The meta-fashion Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show by Zomer

For their Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show, the duo Zomer presented thirty-three silhouettes that embrace the playful, demanding and poetic imagination that has shaped their vocabulary for the past six seasons.

  • By Mélody Thomas.

  • Zomer, or the potential of gesture

At the origin of this Zomer Fal/winter 2026-2027 show is a simple gesture… Wearing a garment that is dear to us, like a kilt-style skirt worn over trousers, an oversized shirt, or a cardigan. What emerges from this collection is a celebration of personal style, of the intimate relationship we maintain with our own clothes. It is also a celebration of creative instinct in the making of a look.

On the stage of the Théâtre du Châtelet, jackets are worn like skirts, shirts are layered, coat and skirt linings are revealed, V-neck sweaters slip over trousers… A language of diversion that recalls the memorial power of clothing, its ability to carry emotions and stories. Fabrics intertwine, inviting touch, sensations and encounters to take place.

Through a collaboration with Casio, time becomes another narrative thread in this winter collection. Watches turn into the straps of a top, into brooches adorning a lavallière bow, or appear inside a pocket in a conspicuous way. These small totems, worn directly on the body, invite us to enjoy the simple gestures of the present moment. They also encourage us to move forward with confidence and surround ourselves with the things that make us feel good.

A show to watch or to be watched?

If it is still too early to rush to the conclusion, the Zomer show has already suggested an underlying narrative by collaborating with Watch Party, the platform created by content creator Lyas. Conceived as a space for exchange and making fashion more accessible, the event is taking over the Théâtre du Châtelet for the duration of Fashion Week.

Even before the models step onto the runway, the scenography of the Zomer show intrigues. Cameras initially pointed at the audience, then turn toward the runway to reveal some details from the silhouettes. Fashion starts when one watches those who are watching it, before turning toward one’s own reflection. This meta moment, an embedded vision of the fashion show itself, says much about the place of the industry today.

Besides, the AVAVAV show in Milan had already invited the industry to allow itself to be observed by the models. It reversed the implicit hierarchy between those who look and the ones who are looked at – accepting to be seen in order to see. Fashion seems to be looking at itself, raising the question that quietly runs from the front row to backstage… Who are we, fashion aficionados, and how is it possible to imagine the present and future without first knowing ourselves?
