The Hodakova Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show in 3 surreal looks

In the dim light of a dark room at the Carrousel du Louvre, Hodakova unveiled a Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show filled with surprising looks, where home furniture takes over our outdoor wardrobe.

  • Hodakova offers a new way to wear the blazer

For her Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show, Hodakova didn’t choose any venue. The brand took over the Carrousel du Louvre, a meaningful location in the fashion world. A few decades ago, houses like Chanel and Dior used to present their collections there, across three large rooms arranged around a vast central hall. In that setting, the Swedish designer unveiled the silhouettes of her new collection.

Inside a setting delimited by black walls, the models walked around what seemed to be a small living room with ultra-modern décor. There, Ellen Hodakova Larsson’s surreal and audacious silhouettes, true to her unique, upcycled aesthetic, emerged. One striking example was a blazer worn backwards. The buttons cross over at the back, while the shoulders and sleeves were not worn but left hanging loose. As if by magic or an invisible hanger, the jacket stayed in place on the model’s torso.

    Mirrors become accessories

In this new collection, the Swedish designer plunges us into a form of intimacy. This is conveyed both through the set design, recreating a home environment, and through pared-down silhouettes with striking details. In various looks, the models carry mirrors in their hands, reflecting not only their own faces but also those of the guests seated in the front rows.

Underlining the psychological dimension of the show, they “symbolize emotional exposure and inner states of mind,” to quote Ellen Hodakova Larsson in her show notes. Worn with a simple white strapless dress and a pair of black thigh-high boots, the double mirrors lend the look a surreal allure, evoking that familiar moment of standing before the mirror while getting ready in the morning, in complete privacy.

When furniture is turned into clothing

As the Hodakova Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show unfolds, the models make use of the set itself. Some pick up the rugs scattered across the floor and wrap them around their waists or torsos, transforming them into skirts or tube dresses. Other silhouettes are even constructed from velvet or embroidered tapestry armchairs.

These surreal looks reveal a top whose chair legs frame one model’s face, or a dress that envelops another’s arms, creating a delightfully unexpected silhouette. To complete this wardrobe, drawing on the language of interiors and intimacy, which echoes Belgian designer Julie Kegels‘s show, Hodakova also introduces more minimalist looks. For instance, a loose, lightweight pair of shorts worn with two small teacups attached to the chest… Surreal, as promised.
