Marty Supreme (2026) with Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow

The first truly major film of 2026 is Marty Supreme. A thrilling spectacle blending tension, sports competition and small-time scams. In this sports biopic, actor Timothée Chalamet brilliantly embodies Marty Mauser, a New York ping-pong prodigy. It was undoubtedly the finest performance of his career.

To prepare for the role, the actor followed intensive training around the globe. He reportedly transported his ping-pong table from London to Abu Dhabi, Budapest and Cannes… With a record-breaking budget of 70 million dollars, the film, produced by A24, also wins over audiences thanks to its dazzling supporting cast, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion and Tyler, the Creator.

Wuthering Heights with Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi

Wuthering Heights, directed by Emerald Fennell (Saltburn) offers a blazing, free interpretation of Emily Brontë’s cult novel of the same name published in 1847. The cast features two actors we love, Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, who play two lovers, Catherine and Heathcliff. The story revolves around a doomed romance, family feuds and revenge. Widely criticized by both audiences and critics, the feature nevertheless captivates us with its sumptuous costumes, the wild landscapes of Yorkshire and its epic soundtrack composed by brat girl Charli xcx

In this historical drama, adapted from Maggie O’Farrell’s novel, the sensitive Paul Mescal portrays William Shakespeare as a man haunted by the death of his son. Actress Jessie Buckley lends her intensity to Agnes, the enigmatic wife and emotional pillar of the story, consumed by grief too. The deeply lyrical Hamnet is already emerging as one of the major films of 2026 and a strong Oscars contender. Jessie Buckley had already received the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her moving, tearful performance.

    La Grazia by Paolo Sorrentino

Presented at the 2025 Venice Film Festival, La Grazia marked Paolo Sorrentino’s return to competition (The Great Beauty, The Hand of God). Acclaimed at the Lido in 2021, the Neapolitan filmmaker unveils his eleventh feature. A narrative described as a love story loosely inspired by the sentimental tales of François Truffaut. The project is led by the brilliant Toni Servillo (The Great Beauty). The latter won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor for his role as a solitary politician forced to make difficult choices regarding a euthanasia bill and the fate of two criminals.

He faces actress Anna Farzetti (Diamanti) in a story about love, mourning and power, which quickly sparked enthusiasm in Venice. After Parthenope (2023), which divided critics, La Grazia returns to a more classical, political and emotional aesthetic, much appreciated by the director’s fans. A true return to grace indeed…
