The films and series to stream in June 2026
April 2026 is shaping up to be one hell of a month for streaming platforms. Among the highly anticipated releases of the animated series Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, which will embark fans back into the cult sci-fi universe, of season 5 of The Boys on Amazon Prime Video, and of season 3 of Euphoria on HBO Max, streaming giants are seeing the big picture.

What’s new on Netflix in June?
Netflix is once again betting on an eclectic offering in June 2026. From June 1st, subscribers will be able to watch Creed (2016), starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone. The new French series titled Summer ’36 will come out the same day. A blend of social drama and criminal investigation on the French Riviera during the era of the first paid holidays.
On June 2nd, the spotlight turns to Bros (2022), a queer romantic series set in New York. The following day, the platform will premiere The Thick of It, a new comedy show hosted by Paul de Saint Sernin, pitting the generations of France’s 1998 and 2018 World Cup-winning footballers against one another. That same day, the documentary series Michael Jackson: The Verdict will revisit the high-profile 2005 trial against the King of Pop.
Jennifer Lopez to star in Office Romance
On June 5th, Netflix will release two very different titles. First Office Romance, a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein. Then, Mexico 86, a sports drama led by Diego Luna and Bérénice Bejo. Two days later, film lovers will be able to (re)discover Poor Things (2024), Yórgos Lánthimos’s mesmerizing fantasy tale starring Emma Stone, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 2023.
Other highlights of the month include Rachel Getting Married (2009), the comedy-drama starring Anne Hathaway (June 8th), the horror thriller Cuckoo featuring Hunter Schafer on June 9th, and the fifth season of the series Sweet Magnolias on June 11th. From June 12th, nostalgic viewers will also be able to revisit the romantic drama The Last Song (2010) starring Miley Cyrus.
On June 18th, a new miniseries titled On the Trail, with Sam Worthington and Britt Lower, will arrive on the platform. Finally, the month will wrap up on June 19th with Voicemails for Isabelle, a new romantic comedy starring Zoey Deutch (Nouvelle Vague) and Nick Robinson (Turn Me On). On June 24th, the ambitious feature In the Hand of Dante will bring together Oscar Isaac, Gal Gadot and Al Pacino.
House of the Dragon, Jaws… What’s new on HBO Max in June 2026
This June, HBO Max is balancing timeless classics with new original series. From June 3rd, viewers will (re)discover two Steven Spielberg masterpieces, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) and Jaws (1975). The director is about to unveil his new film, Disclosure Day, in theatres. The following day, the spotlight turns to Léon: The Professional (1994), Luc Besson’s cult thriller starring Jean Reno and Natalie Portman.
On June 6th, the platform will expand its catalogue with Enemy at the Gates (2001), the spectacular wartime epic starring Jude Law. A few days later, on June 11th, subscribers will be able to revisit In the Mood for Love (2000), Wong Kar-wai’s unforgettable romantic gem.
This month’s biggest event is undoubtedly the launch of the new season of House of the Dragon on June 22nd. After a second season that divided the audience, the Game of Thrones spin-off will attempt to recapture the intensity that made its early episodes a success.
Finally, on June 30th, HBO Max will premiere Companion (2025), the acclaimed horror thriller starring Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid.

The Bear among the Disney+ highlights this June
From June 2nd, Disney+ will premiere Not Suitable for Work, an original comedy produced by Mindy Kaling and starring Ella Hunt and Jay Ellis. A few days later, on June 6th, the platform will add Joli Joli (2024), Diastème’s retro musical comedy featuring Clara Luciani and William Lebghil.
On June 7th, subscribers will also be able to (re)watch Haute Couture (2021), starring Nathalie Baye and Lyna Khoudri, before discovering Alice and Steve on June 8th, a British series acclaimed at the 2026 Canneseries Festival. On June 14th, Disney+ will stream Mary Queen of Scots (2019), the poignant historical drama led by Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie.
Finally, the month’s biggest event is undoubtedly the fifth and final season of The Bear on June 26th. After four critically acclaimed seasons, the cult series starring Jeremy Allen White is about to take its final bow with the last eight episodes.
Your Fault: London, a must-watch film on Amazon Prime Video
A Family of Misfits, a comedy starring Hakim Jemili and Laura Felpin, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 12th. Set in Paris in 1997, the film promises a lively mix of humour and absurd, explosive antics.
On June 17th, the platform will bank on one of its biggest hits with Your Fault: London. A sequel to the smash-hit romance adapted from Mercedes Ron’s novels, the film follows Noah and Nick as their relationship is tested by distance, new encounters, and the uncertainties that come with stepping into adulthood.
Cape Fear, Sugar… The series to discover on Apple TV+
On Apple TV+, June 2026 will be all about thrillers. From June 5th, the platform will unveil Cape Fear, a new adaptation of Martin Scorsese’s 1991 cinematic classic. Starring Amy Adams, Patrick Wilson and Javier Bardem, the series follows a married couple of lawyers having to face a dangerous criminal they once helped send to prison. It is one of the most anticipated psychological thrillers of the year.
On June 19th, Apple TV+ will also welcome back Sugar for a second season. Colin Farrell reprises his role as the charismatic, yet enigmatic private investigator. She will embark on a new case following the critical success of the show’s first season.

The films and series not to be missed in May 2026
Across the streaming platforms in May 2026, viewers should not have missed the return to the Money Heist universe with Berlin and The Lady with an Ermine, a moving new series. On HBO Max, Euphoria continued to raise the stakes with the weekly rollout of its third season. On May 29th, 2026, MaXXXine, the blood-soaked thriller starring Mia Goth and Lily Collins, stole the spotlight. On Mubi, audiences had the chance to (re)discover Oliver Laxe’s outstanding Sirât (2025), which shook up Cannes a year ago, along with Arco (2025), Ugo Bienvenu’s moving science-fiction adventure.
In April 2026, highlights included the arrival of season two of Beef, starring Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan, as well as Stranger Things: Chronicles of 1985, which plunged fans back into the cult world of Stranger Things. On HBO Max, viewers were treated to Half Man, the new creation by Scottish filmmaker Richard Gadd, who rose to international fame with the global success of Baby Reindeer in 2024. The month’s major event was the return of Euphoria for its highly anticipated third season. Meanwhile, on Prime Video, The Boys came back for a fifth and final season that proved more explosive than ever.
On streaming platforms in March 2026, the excellent French series Privilèges, starring Melvil Poupaud and Manon Bresch, released on HBO Max, was a must-watch. On Netflix, one of the highlights of the month was the release of the film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal. This sequel to the cult series is set in 20th-century Birmingham, with Cillian Murphy reprising his iconic role as Tommy Shelby… On Prime Video, the pilot of the series Scarpetta was also worth watching. The must-watch films and series of January and February 2026
Netflix unveiled a streaming lineup centered around love last February 2026. On February 4, viewers shouldn’t have missed the complete Fifty Shades of Grey saga (2015–2018). A chance to (re)discover the passionate relationship between Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan). February 26th marked another highlight with the release of the second part of Bridgerton season 4.
On HBO Max, the steamy romance Heated Rivalry, starring Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, was one of the most acclaimed series of the month… Meanwhile, on Prime Video, the series Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette revisited one of the most iconic romances of the 20th century.
In January 2026, one standout was the series The Beauty, created by Ryan Murphy and released on Disney+. This sultry dystopian thriller questions notions of sexuality and power. Highly anticipated ahead of its release, the show stars Ashton Kutcher and Evan Peters, alongside a host of high-profile guest appearances, from Bella Hadid to Amelia Gray. Netflix releases the film People We Meet on Vacation, starring Lukas Gage (Euphoria, Smile 2, The White Lotus) and Lucien Laviscount (Emily in Paris). This romantic comedy follows two inseparable friends who, over the course of summers and travels, begin to question the fragile boundary between friendship and love.
