Emily Ratajkowski to star with Adèle Exarchopoulos in a new exciting Netflix series
Following in the footsteps of Kim Kardashian and singer Dua Lipa, model Emily Ratajkowski is the latest celebrity to try her hand at acting. Alongside French actress Adèle Exarchopoulos, she will be starring in the upcoming Netflix series Too Much, directed by Lena Dunham and set to premiere on July 10th, 2025.

After the resounding success of her hit HBO series Girls (2012–2017), filmmaker Lena Dunham is back on the small screen with a new thrilling Netflix production. While she’s also working on the highly-anticipated film Polly Pocket – in the wake of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie – the American director has unveiled the trailer for her upcoming ten-part series, Too Much, on June 10th. The show will premiere on Netflix on July 10th, 2025.
Too Much, the upcoming Netflix series produced by Lena Dunham
A blend of romantic comedy and success story, the plot follows Jessica, a heartbroken, workaholic New Yorker who decides to leave everything behind and start afresh in London. There, she meets Felix, her musician roommate with a drinking problem, and his ex-girlfriend Polly, who is the complete opposite of Jessica.
A romantic comedy starring Will Sharpe and Megan Stalter
According to Variety, several familiar faces from the film industry will appear in Too Much, including Megan Stalter as Jessica – recently seen in the moving film Sometimes I Think About Dying – and British actor Will Sharpe, acclaimed for his role as Ethan in season 2 of HBO’s series The White Lotus (2022).
But the real surprises in the cast are French actress Adèle Exarchopoulos, and models Adwoa Aboah and Emily Ratajkowski. The latter had stepped away from the film industry for a while, deeming it toxic.
Emily Ratajkowski is back to the world of cinema
Much like Kim Kardashian, who appeared in season 12 of American Horror Story (2024), or singer Dua Lipa, star of the new spy film Argylle (2024), Emily Ratajkowski is back to one of her previous ventures. She previously appeared in David Fincher’s Gone Girl (2014), as well as in the thriller Welcome Home, and she starred alongside Zac Efron in We Are Your Friends (2015), and with Theo James in the crime film Lying and Stealing (2019).
In short, a solid résumé that she now expands with a foray into television through Lena Dunham’s new series Too Much. Face of the Flowerbomb Tiger Lily fragrance by Viktor & Rolf and author of a feminist essay, the model, social media star, podcast host, entrepreneur, and activist nicknamed Emrata shows no signs of slowing down.
International star Adèle Exarchopoulos
As for Adèle Exarchopoulos, she is still attracting international filmmakers after her role in Passages (2023) directed by Ira Sachs. Last year, the actress lent her voice to what became the biggest box-office hit of 2024.
Indeed, she voiced a character in Pixar’s animated feature Inside Out 2, both in French and English. Just like Tahar Rahim, Omar Sy, and Léa Seydoux, she has all the qualities needed to make it in Hollywood.
Too Much, the series directed by Lena Dunham will premiere on Netflix on July 10th, 2025.
