Pop art and porno chic, the world of David LaChapelle in two books
Like true pictorial compositions, David LaChapelle’s photographs unapologetically mix together clashing colours with kitsch details, subversive humour, sexual and religious references. Stardom and society are always the backdrop of his vibrant universe. Taschen is publishing an epic two-volume anthology on the American photographer and dear friend of Andy Warhol.
Published on 8 September 2020. Updated on 27 April 2026.
American photographer and director David LaChapelle first photo series was published in Interview, the renowned magazine founded by Andy Warhol. The vibrant universe of the photographer is now available in a two-volume project. The book Lost + Found unveils a visual fresco depicting our society and its shortcomings, while Good News evokes LaChapelle‘s creative rebirth, between morbid fascination and desire to reach paradise by turning one’s back on the material world. This anthology, published by Taschen, brings new insights into the photographer’s work through some previously unpublished pictures of Pamela Anderson, Miley Cyrus, Kendall Jenner and Amy Winehouse.
