How does the Pressiat show glorify the working girl?

By staging his Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show on the rooftop of AquaKyoto in front of the Eiffel Tower, Vincent Pressiat set his silhouettes against the Parisian skyline. In doing so, he revisited the codes of the bold and powerful working girl.

  • The working girl, according to Vincent Pressiat

With The Edge, his Fall/Winter 2026–2027 collection, Vincent Pressiat offers a clear proposal — a commanding femininity, architectural by day and liberated by night. As a graduate from École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, the designer trained with John Galliano at Maison Margiela, as well as at Saint Laurent and Balmain.

The narrative thread? The working girl as an archetype of power, unfolding in two acts. First, the daytime wardrobe with fitted pencil skirts, sharply structured blazers, high collars and jabot shirts that evoke the iconography of the secretary, only to subvert it.

One look in black satin, a fitted jacket paired with a mid-length skirt and sunglasses, encapsulates the spirit of this first chapter. A razor-sharp, almost intimidating rigor, elevated by Manolo Blahnik pumps that further elongate the long, slender silhouette emblematic of Pressiat.

Sharp tailoring and theatrical silhouettes on the catwalk

Then, comes the turning point. A voluminous fur coat cinched at the waist — one of the most spectacular moments of the show — transforms the rigid structure into a cocoon. Meanwhile, leather shapes sculptural corsets, the emblem of a controlled, unapologetic sensuality.

As for the golden dress that closes the show, it completes the transformation of the working girl, who leaves the office behind and plunges into the Parisian nightlife. Not to mention the feather mask designed by Tommy Solovyov, which lends the ensemble an unsettling theatricality.

Finally, earthy tones, the meticulous work on materials, the sharply defined makeup created by MAC, and a fiery Latin dance performance reinforce a bold universe in which every detail serves the whole narrative. In short, Vincent Pressiat’s fashion stands out with audacity and strength from that of his contemporaries, blowing a provocative wind through Paris Fashion Week.
