The must-have sneaker collaborations in 2026

While sneaker collaborations have become commonplace in recent years, some associations still manage to surprise us. We’re halfway through 2026 and some collections are still surprising us. Proofs are in 13 creative partnerships to create new sneaker designs, and more…

The seventh Adidas Originals x Song for the Mute collaboration

A few months after reimagining Birkenstock’s iconic clogs, Song for the Mute continues its dialogue with wardrobe classics. The Australian label reunites with Adidas Originals for a seventh compelling collaboration. This time, designers Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty, who have both led the brand since its founding in 2010, draw their inspiration from childhood memories and the worn-out aesthetic of school uniforms.

At the heart of this new chapter, the Tokyo and Samba LX Freizeit sneakers are crafted in weathered materials and finished with deliberately imperfect details, as though marked by the passage of time. The result is a nostalgic, yet resolutely cool collection. Track jackets, rugby polos and trousers inspired by school uniforms complete this capsule, once again showcasing Song for the Mute’s skill for reinventing refined wardrobe staples.

The Adidas Originals x Song for the Mute collaboration is available on adidas.com and songforthemute.com.

The sun-drenched inspiration behind the Veja x Misci collaboration

As summer approaches, Veja has teamed up with Brazilian label Misci to revamp the Paulistana, the French sneaker brand’s retro-running silhouette. This new collection blends contemporary design with technical craftsmanship. The sneakers come in two versions featuring asymmetrical colourways, playing with contrasts and textures.

Among the standout details is the use of pirarucu leather, sourced from an Amazonian fish whose natural texture brings depth and distinctiveness to the sneaker. Understated and meticulously executed, this capsule extends both brands’ ongoing exploration of innovative materials and experimental approach to design.

The VEJA x MISCI collaboration is available at veja-store.com.

The new MM6 x Salomon sneakers

For Spring/Summer 2026, MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon continue their creative dialogue at the crossroads of fashion and performance. At the heart of this capsule collection, the idea of hybridization moves from technical codes of trail running to a more conceptual, modular language. The XT-MM6 and Cross Dust sneakers, along with the XT-15 backpack, rethink functionality through form, blending protection, lightness, and versatility. Between outdoor heritage, streamlined silhouettes, and reinterpreted details, the MM6 x Salomon collection celebrates a fluid aesthetic designed to move seamlessly from city pavements to the great outdoors.

The XT-MM6 and Cross Dust sneakers and the XT-15 backpack from the MM6 x Salomon collaboration are available on maisonmargiela.com and salomon.com.

Birkenstock x Song of the Mute: the coolest mules of spring

In recent years, mules have steadily established themselves as a solid alternative to sneakers in modern wardrobes. The new collaboration between Birkenstock and the Australian label Song for the Mute is proof.

Remaining true to its functional heritage, the German brand sees its iconic silhouettes reinterpreted through the experimental lens of designers Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty. The result is a collection in which textures and fabrics tell a story structured around four archetypes — the artist, the rebel, the gardener and the collector — each one embodied by a silhouette and a distinct wardrobe…

The Birkenstock x Song of the Mute collaboration is available on 1774.com and songforthemute.com.

Onitsuka Tiger and Versace revamp the sneakerina

First spotted on the runway of the Versace Spring/Summer 2026 show, which marked Dario Vitale’s brief tenure at the helm of the house, this collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger stands out as a true object of desire. Together, the two brands revisit the Tai-Chi design in a more streamlined version, suitable for warmer temperatures.

Here, the sneaker is refined to the point of almost resembling a ballet flat, in line with the sneakerina trend, featuring a flat sole and elongated shape. The fabrics used, like soft leather and lightly textured suede, breathe new life into this design without weighing down its appearance. Ultimately, Onitsuka Tiger and Versace deliver a hybrid pair that suggests rather than imposes, embodying the subtle meeting of two distinct visions of style.

The Onitsuka Tiger x Versace collaboration is available on onitsukatiger.com.

Puma x Super Yaya: A meeting inspired by dance

Designer Rym Beydoun was born in Abidjan, raised between Lebanon and Côte d’Ivoire, and graduated from Central Saint Martins. In 2015, she founded her label Super Yaya, defined by very colourful creations, often infused with a playful approach to clothing. Today, the artist, who is becoming increasingly acclaimed within the fashion landscape, offers a highly personal take on Puma’s Speedcat sneaker, shaped by West African heritage and a contemporary vision of femininity.

Created with the support of Zalando, this first capsule revisits one of the German brand’s iconic silhouettes in three unisex colours — black and white, blue and green, brown and almond — punctuated by a tone-on-tone polka dot motif, inverted along the side stripe. Crafted on canvas, the pair plays on contrasts, echoes the world of dance, and can be personalised through interchangeable laces that easily transform its style.

The Puma x Super Yaya collaboration will be available from April 16th, 2026, on super-yaya.com and at Dover Street Market Paris from April 30th, 2026.

Asics x Thom Browne: The tailor-made sneaker

For his very first collaboration with Asics, American designer Thom Browne revisits one of the Japanese brand’s most iconic designs, the GEL-Kayano 14. First spotted on the runway of the New York house’s Fall/Winter 2026–2027 show in San Francisco, these sneakers remain true to the designer’s signature aesthetic. The result is a sporty silhouette that preserves the original technical spirit, while gaining in sophistication through the use of more refined fabrics, such as smooth leather and suede.

Thom Browne’s signature details are subtly woven into the pair. His hallmark red, white and blue grosgrain ribbon appears on the lace catcher, while cross-stitching features across Asics’ iconic side stripes. Available in grey, black and white, this reinterpretation of the GEL-Kayano 14 cleverly shifts the codes of running into a more fashion-oriented territory.

The Asics x Thom Browne collaboration has been available since March 2, 2026, on thombrowne.com.

Nike x Jacquemus: the Moon Shoe comes in three new colours

Just over six months ago, Simon Porte Jacquemus unveiled a standout collaboration with Nike centred on the iconic Nike Moon Shoe. Originally designed in 1972 by Bill Bowerman, this founding running silhouette entered a new era, revamped through the minimalist, sun-drenched aesthetic of the Marseille-born designer.

As spring approaches, this creative dialogue continues with three new colours — brown, off-white and pale pink. The latter, particularly dear to Jacquemus, directly echoes the house’s identity, bringing softness and sensuality to this iconic silhouette. To accompany this new chapter, the campaign features singer, artist and cultural icon Solange Knowles, who appears in a series of pared-back images highlighting the purity of the design and the shoe’s almost sculptural quality…

The new Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoe is available on jacquemus.com and in Jacquemus stores.

Veja x Magliano: Italian-style football cleats

For this new collaboration, French brand Veja teams up with cutting-edge Italian label Magliano to revamp the Panenka sneaker. Inspired by a pair of vintage football cleats, this unisex design becomes, under the direction of designer Luca Magliano (co-winner of the 2023 LVMH Prize), a true playground for stylistic experimentation…

These snearkers stand out for their folded tongue, recalling classic football boots. Three sets of laces, designed to intertwine, further enhance this graphic interplay so central to Magliano’s free-spirited aesthetic. Available in black accented with cream, in white contrasted with black, and in pearlescent pink, this hybrid sneaker is shaping up to be the ideal pair for following the 2026 World Cup with impeccable style…

The Veja x Magliano collaboration is available on veja-store.com.

Puma x Daniëlle Cathari: A colorful take on two iconic sneakers

For her first collaboration with Puma, Dutch designer Daniëlle Cathari revisits two emblematic sneaker models – the Suede and the Speedcat. Her approach focuses as much on texture as on silhouette, with thick suede entirely covering both pairs to create more relief.

The collaboration truly stands out from Puma’s original designs in its attention to detail. Daniëlle Cathari sprinkles in subtle elements that evoke an organic, miniature world. The shades recall the vivid hues of some mushrooms, while the heel features embossed shapes reminiscent of spider eyes. A graphic signature that also serves as a logo.

The Puma x Daniëlle Cathari collaboration is available on puma.com since February 7th, 2026.

Salomon x Rier: When sportswear meets the alpine spirit

To step into spring in style, the French brand Rier opens a new chapter in its collaboration with Salomon. For the occasion, the label founded in 2019 revisits two emblematic silhouettes by the outdoor specialist — the Salomon XA Pro 3D and Salomon XA Jungle. These sneakers draw their inspiration from the traditional socks worn with Alpine folk costumes, translating the imaginary of the mountain into a more contemporary aesthetic.

True to Salomon’s technical identity, both designs feature the 3D Advanced sole, which provides optimal stability on uneven trails. The result is a bold, ultra-assertive look, designed as much for trail running as for strolling — without going unnoticed — through Parisian parks…

The Salomon x Rier collaboration is available since March 2nd, 2026 on salomon.com.

Asics x Kimhekim: A couture take on a running sneaker

For Valentine’s Day, Asics’ Sportstyle line unveiled its first collaboration with South Korean label Kimhekim. In the hands of the brand, primarily known for its oversized bows, the Gel-Nimbus 10.1 keeps its identity intact, while embracing a more fashion-forward approach to running. A discreet little heart, tone-on-tone layering, and slightly softened lines subtly refine the silhouette.

The result? A sneaker that is both technical and sophisticated, conceived as a couture venture into the sportswear wardrobe. All that without losing the credibility that anchors Asics within the fashion sphere. Available in three monochrome colorways – black, silver, off-white – the collaboration opts for understated simplicity and works with any look…

The Asics x Kimhekim collaboration is available on asics.com, since February 13th, 2026.

Camper x Sunnei: An ultra-pop, final collaboration

For Spring/Summer 2026, Camper reunites with Italian brand Sunnei for a third and final collaboration centered on the Pelotissima. It is a contemporary reinterpretation of an archival model first launched in 1996. This rather classic-looking sneaker, recognizable for its airy construction and double-studded sole, is pushed here into a more graphic, more substantial version.

Imagined in collaboration with Milan-based duo Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo, Sunnei’s founders, the sneaker embraces a retro-futuristic aesthetic with an XXL two-tone sole. It also features a minimalist mesh upper, mainly made from recycled materials. Available in four multicolored versions – blue, green, burgundy, brown – the model perfectly encapsulates the identity of both brands, blending vibrant colors with precise design.

The Camper x Sunnei collaboration is available on camper.com and sunnei.it since February 11th, 2026.
