Alexandre Mattiussi explores the aesthetics of daily life at AMI
Closing out the second day of Paris Fashion Week, marked by numerous runway shows, Alexandre Mattiussi unveiled his AMI Fall/Winter 2026–2027 show, which playfully subverts the myth of the Parisian wardrobe through 57 looks.

A thousand shades of Parisian wardrobe at the AMI show
As his brand AMI is about to celebrate its fifteenth anniversary, Alexandre Mattiussi extends his vision to explore the endless nuances of the Parisian wardrobe, and more broadly, of the contemporary urban silhouette.
Staged in a former boutique on the Champs-Élysées, the Fall/Winter 2026–2027 show unfolded before a surprising front row. Among the guests invited were footballer Samuel Umtiti, actress Diane Kruger, or French singer Eddy de Pretto. An eclectic mix of faces, which mirrors the multifaceted and grounded vision that the designer has championed since his debut in fashion.
This season, Alexandre Mattiussi presents a deceptively simple collection, driven by a sense of mastered nonchalance. Preppy wardrobe staples, such as long wool coats and striped shirts, are layered without ever feeling overly calculated. Each piece feels like a spontaneous choice.

Wired earphones, lighter holders: This season’s must-have accessories
Throughout this urban ballet of some sixty silhouettes, some figures stand out and catch the eye. One is the preppy schoolboy with a beanie snug on his head and visible wired earphones. A familiar scene that could be spotted from a Parisian café terrace, the kind of place Alexandre Mattiussi loves to go to in order to grasp the zeitgeist. His female counterpart appears on model Alex Consani, looking as if she has just rushed out of the house. She wears large sweatpants and pulled-up socks, in contrast with her elegant white feathered coat.
Later on, this everyday aesthetic is further enhanced by a few handpicked accessories. A golden lighter holder worn as a necklace, a cap embroidered with the phrase “thank you for being a friend,” and loosely knotted ties paired with thick hoodies. Each detail conveys an almost improvised style.
With this Fall/Winter 2026–2027 AMI collection, Alexandre Mattiussi once again proves his talent for capturing the zeitgeist… When style is stripped away from the Fashion Week runways and slips effortlessly into everyday life.
