The Gucci x Palace collection in 7 iconic pieces

Après des collaborations remarquées avec le label sportswear Adidas et l’acteur anglais Harry Styles dévoilées un peu plus tôt cette année, Gucci fusionne son esthétique avec celle emblématique de Palace Skateboards. Fondé en 2009 par Lev Tanju et Gareth Skewis, les membres d’un groupe de skateurs londoniens qui squattaient une skatehouse insalubre, qu’ils appelaient ironiquement palace, le label s’est rendu célèbre pour ses planches de skateboards et ses collections streetwear. L’extravagance baroque distillée par Alessandro Michele, directeur artistique de la maison italienne depuis 2015, se confronte ici au style underground anglais du label au logo inspiré du triangle de Penrose, figure géométrique impossible à reproduire dans la réalité.. After several successful collaborations with the sportswear label Adidas and British actor Harry Styles earlier this year, Gucci has merged its aesthetic with Palace Skateboards’ iconic one. Founded in 2009 by Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis, members of a London-based group of skateboarders who used to squat in an unsanitary skate house they ironically called Palace, the label became famous for its skateboards and streetwear collections. Alessandro Michele’s nuanced yet baroque extravagance, the Italian house’s artistic director since 2015, faces the English underground style of the label’s logo inspired by the Penrose triangle, a geometric figure impossible to reproduce in reality… The result is a collection of desirable and daring ready-to-wear pieces and accessories.
