What are the most exquisite Yule logs of this holiday season?
Numéro has selected the most exquisite and delicious Yule logs of this holiday season. A perfect gift or treat to enjoy this Christmas 2025, crafted by Yannick Alléno, Dior, and the Café de la Paix.
By Violaine Schütz,
and Louise Menard.

Each year, dinner on Christmas Eve is a matter of the utmost importance for those celebrating it. Planning often begins months in advance to create a menu that will delight all the guests and help smooth over any family tensions. Seafood platters, foie gras, caviar, salmon toasts, stuffed turkey, blinis, jumbo shrimp… Some take this meal to the next level.
Dessert(s) is the cherry on top – if one follows the Provençal tradition of thirteen desserts. And the Yule log is the grand finale of any Christmas dinner. While some make their own versions at their own risk, the ones crafted with skill and precision by pastry chefs remain the most impressive.

The Yule log, a timeless holiday tradition
Pastry chefs, gastronomic instutions, like Lenôtre, and luxury hotels, such as Le Bristol and The Peninsula, are all vying to outdo each other in taste and creativity. Whether presented under their own names or under the banner of prestigious establishments, they offer delicious and spectacular Yule logs. You can find something for every palate – red fruits, chestnut, citrus, praline, Bourbon vanilla, caramel, marzipan, speculoos, chocolate – we highly recommend the one from Stohrer, Paris’s oldest bakery… And for every aesthetic sensibility too! Michalak’s ones are particularly playful.

Which Yule log to choose for Christmas 2025?
In 2024, we were once again impressed by the chefs’ creativity. A river of teddy bears at Maison Caffet, a wreath adorned with leaves and a bow at Lenôtre, a trompe-l’œil box of macaron tins at Ladurée, a reel of thread at Dior, or a chocolate column from Maison du Caviar… Picking one was the hardest part.
Christmas 2025 promises to be just as magical. The latest Yule logs are competing in inventiveness, especially when it comes to shape. The S0/Paris cake comes as an iridescent nutcracker. Café Kitsuné’s creation, designed by pastry chef and Meilleur Ouvrier de France Yann Brys, features a set of cups filled with matcha. Meanwhile, Café de la Paix joins forces with Repetto to craft a ballerina with a gold-dusted tutu. As the festive season draws near, Numéro has selected the most exquisite Yule logs of 2025.
