Which iconic model is featured in a capsule collection by Guess?

After unveiling capsule collections in collaboration with A$ap Rocky in 2017 and J. Balvin last year, Guess presents a new collection in tribute to one of its iconic models: Anna Nicole Smith, who died fourteen years ago.

In the 90s, Anna Nicole Smith was one of the Playboy magazine playmates, played in a few dwarfs, and was known for her luscious figure, peroxidized blonde hair and ultra sexy looks. Like her idol Marilyn Monroe, she became a real sex symbol, a role that even led her to a career as a model. One day, while going to a restaurant in San Antonio, Texas, the young woman was noticed by Paul Marciano, co-founder of Guess, who then signed her a five-year contract to replace Claudia Schiffer. Anna Nicole Smith then became one of the brand’s flagship muses, best known for its jeans and its subversive identity.

In 2007, when she was only thirty-nine years old, the model tragically died as a result of an accidental drug overdose. Fourteen years after his death, Guess decided to pay tribute to him by imagining a capsule collection in his image, embodied by the young actress Sydney Sweeney (The Handmaid’s Tale, Euphoria) who slipped into the skin of the mythical icon for the occasion. Designed in collaboration with Californian artist and designer Cali Thornhill Dewitt, the collection consists of thirty-two pieces for women and men, including T-shirts, bodysuits, jumpsuits, jackets and hoodies, all printed with photographs of Anna Nicole Smith or adorned with the inscription “Anna” and “Do you miss me?”.
