Which kind of loafers to fall in love with?
Drawing from the legacy of Native American craftsmanship from the 18th century, loafers have been a walking the streets for generations. Timeless and comfortable, these shoes don’t merely follow trends… They redefine them. While other footwear choices spark debate, like ballet flats, loafers remain synonymous with elegance. Numéro has selected 14 designs for a refined spring season.
The best loafers for spring

Leather designs
Evoking the purity and timeless charm of the 1980s, these pristine loafers transport us to 5 bis, rue de Verneuil. Fashion houses Jil Sander and Saint Laurent have updated this classic using soft, ruched leather, while Barbara Borghini, founder and designer of the Italian brand Giaborghini, adds her own touch with a river of leather fringes…

Open-back loafers
Tod’s announced it during its Spring/Summer 2026 show: open-back loafers are undeniably the stars of the season. Halfway between a loafer and a flat mule, both open and closed at once, this shoe is simply perfect for the transitional months. Spotted at Miu Miu, Alohas and Miista, they are worn just like Poppy Delevingne, photographed a few days ago on the Croisette during the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Loafers with nub soles
Long deemed outdated, loafers with nub soles are making a comeback. Brought back into the spotlight by Tod’s iconic Gommino design, these bubble-soled shoes are now everywhere. While Ralph Lauren gives his loafers an ultra-chic grained leather finish, H&M dares to go bold with a wild, catchy leopard print. As for Valentino Garavani, the house explores its full creative potential with studded details.

Suede loafers
The soft texture strikes the perfect balance between luxury and simplicity. Mango offers a classic version in dark suede, while Sandro continues to celebrate its iconic boat shoes, revamped here as loafers with laces for a striking effect.
