What flip-flops will take over summer?

Limited to beachwear for a long time, flip-flops are poised to make a major comeback in our summer wardrobes after years hidden away in our closets. Discover our selection of trendy designs, from the boldest to the most minimalist, including luxury, simple or heeled designs, as well as designs with fur and rhinestones.

  • Flip-flops: a divisive footwear

Whether it’s Irina Shayk photographed in front of the Martinez Hotel at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, or Emily Ratajkowski casually strolling through New York, today’s most stylish it-girls seem to have completely embraced flip-flops… And, truth be told, so do we.

Sometimes veering into the ugly shoe trend – Acne Studios’ version being a case in point this year – it’s worth noting that flip-flops remain a divise footwear. Despite growing popularity and a strong street presence in major capitals. Some love them and are beginning to see their fashion potential, while others hate them and simply can’t stand that little piece of plastic between their toes.

Where to find the perfect pair?

At the peak of chic when heels are added, like at Nodaleto, or with a rock twist at Balenciaga, which has incorporated them into its Cagole collection, flip-flops are now available in all shape and form. For first-timers, however, it’s best to stick to the classics and look to Ancient Greek Sandals or Christopher Esber for flat, minimalist, lightweight, and ultra-comfortable options. Timeless pieces.

As we examined the trend more closely, two major collaborations caught our eye. First, the return of the duo Dolce & Gabbana x Havaianas, which features a pink boho-style pair with thick soles and braided straps. And then the latest designs by Tory Burch, who is unveiling one of the most unexpected collaboration of the season.

Indeed, the New York designer has teamed up with Swedish brand BonBon to create pastel sandals – a perfect fusion of her preppy aesthetic and the playful, sweet world of the candy brand. More than ever, you have to make sure your pedicure is flawless to properly showcase this now-essential footwear staple this summer.
