The Gucci x Palace collection in 7 iconic pieces

After Adidas, Gucci now invites the London-based label Palace Skateboards for a collaboration infused with the 2000s aesthetics. Glitter bootcut jeans, leather biker jacket, pattern hats… discover 7 already iconic pieces from this eccentric collection.

After several successful collaborations with the sportswear label Adidas and British actor Harry Styles earlier this year, Gucci has merged its aesthetic with Palace Skateboards’ iconic one. Founded in 2009 by Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis, members of a London-based group of skateboarders who used to squat in an unsanitary skate house they ironically called Palace, the label became famous for its skateboards and streetwear collections. Alessandro Michele’s nuanced yet baroque extravagance, the Italian house’s artistic director since 2015, faces the English underground style of the label’s logo inspired by the Penrose triangle, a geometric figure impossible to reproduce in reality… The result is a collection of desirable and daring ready-to-wear pieces and accessories. Numéro has selected 7 essentials from the collection.

The leather jacket embroidered and decorated with patches from the Gucci x Palace collection

1. The Palace x Gucci leather jacket

In the wake of the 2000s fashion, the biker trend is taking the world by storm. Nothing beats this black and yellow distressed leather jacket and its pleasant vintage aesthetic, ornamented with sporty patches and XXL patterns to pair with matching trousers.

2. The Palace x Gucci tie and dye sweatshirt

It is impossible to go unnoticed with this acid green tie and dye sweatshirt. In addition to its bright color, the names Palace and Gucci appear on the chest, red dragons are embroidered on the sleeves – we thank the 2000s aesthetic – and studs ornament the hood and pockets.

The pair of pattern baggy jeans from the Palace x Gucci collection

3. The Palace x Gucci pair of pattern baggy jeans

These baggy jeans have a special place in the skateboarders’ wardrobe as they allow them to do their tricks with ease. Say goodbye to the grungy style that we would have inherited from its big brother and say hi to this piece made of raw denim and decorated with a double monogrammed fabric.

The canvas bag from the Palace x Gucci collection

4. The Palace x Gucci canvas bag

As the emblematic piece of the Italian house, this bag is reinterpreted each season according to Alessandro Michele’s desires. For this collaboration, the green and red Web stripes, as well as a maxi GG monogram, are associated with the famous Palace’s logo.

The red shearling jacket from the Palace x Gucci collection

5. The Palace x Gucci red shearling jacket

It is also hard to go unnoticed when wearing this red shearling jacket. A must-have for skateboarders with expensive taste, this jacket is discreetly decorated with embossed patterns and will make everyone jealous in skateparks and trendy bars.

The bootcut jeans with GG pattern and studs from the Palace x Gucci collection

6. The Palace x Gucci bootcut jeans

Nothing better than these jeans to reproduce the 2000s looks of Paris Hilton or Britney Spears. With their bootcut shape, light wash, rhinestone and studded patterns, these jeans will awaken the it-girl in all of us.

The camouflage fedora from the Palace x Gucci collection

7. The Palace x Gucci camouflage fedora

Both stylish and functional, this fedora hat is the perfect piece to face the first chill of fall. Ornamented with Palace’s iconic camouflage print, the GG pattern, and green and red Web stripes, this accessory adds some indolence to any outfit.

The Palace x Gucci collection will be available on October 21st, exclusively on Gucci Vault, and in ephemeral shops in Paris, Milan, Tokyo, Osaka, and Bangkok, and in Palace shops in London, New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo.
