13 trends that will shape Spring/Summer 2025

Discover 13 Spring/Summer 2025 trends spotted by Numéro, from lingerie pieces and mini shorts to the big comeback of indie sleaze dresses, black skinny pants and men’s suits.

Lingerie remains a flagship trend

A steady must-have for the past two seasons, lingerie is still one of the trends of the Spring/Summer 2025 as underwear keeps revealing itself. Balenciaga for instance is opting for trompe-l’œil slips, while Ester Manas is working with Chantelle to revisit bodysuits and lingerie ensembles. Dolce & Gabbana and Mugler are reinterpreting a Madonna-inspired, powder pink corset, adding a bold touch of retro to it. More refined, Schiaparelli turns its corset into a polo shirt, while Lemaire turns high socks into real stockings. Finally, lace stockings and tights come as seductive accessories at Luis de Javier and Valentino, directed by Alessandro Michele.

Matching mini shorts

Just like lingerie, mini shorts are more popular than ever. Next summer, pair them with a matching top. Miu Miu offers a bloomer silhouette coupled with a polo shirt, while Gucci revisits the sixties with a slim-fitted, lime-green leather peplum, and Chanel opts for striped knitwear for a casual touch. Meanwhile, Glenn Martens presents a denim total look for Diesel.

The strong comeback of the suit

As the emblematic silhouette of the Saint Laurent runway show and tribute to the founder of the fashion house, the men’s suit has established itself as the key piece of Spring/Summer 2025 and extension of the Spring/Summer 2024 collections. It is resolutely boyish at Dior, Gabriela Hearst and Stella McCartney, and daringly eccentric in burgundy at Jil Sander and Bottega Veneta. Revamped as a skirt by Max Mara or worn casually at Gucci, the suit asserts its versatility and timeless elegance.

Workwear suits become more feminine

Similar to men’s suits, workwear suits were already on trend in the Spring/Summer 2024 collections. This summer, they will be lighter and more feminine at Chanel, Alaïa, Dior and Hermès.

Wide-leg trousers for the Spring/Summer 2025

Popularised by streetwear, baggy trousers have not yet said their last word. Reminiscent of the R’n’B stars of the 2000s, they can be worn with an ultra-feminine top by Alaïa, Chanel, Patou, Stella McCartney, Valentino, Duran Lantink, The Attico or Victoria Beckham.

Black skinny pants are once again on trend

For a few months now, rumor has it that the rock’n’roll style sported by Kate Moss and Pete Doherty in the early 2000s is making a comeback. These silhouettes wearing black slim pants by Balmain, Courrèges, McQueen, Mugler and The Attico confirm it.

Indie sleaze dresses are back

Among the queens of indie sleaze in the 2000s, the names Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Alexa Chung stand out. Bohemian, rock and sexy, indie sleaze dresses are known for their sexy baby doll cuts, pastel colours and romantic lace details. This aesthetic is making a big comeback as one of the Spring/Summer 2025 trends, and one that has already been spotted on Charli xcx with her brat looks combining lace skirts and rock’n’roll T-shirts.

Asymmetrical pants

We often forget that fashion is synonymous with renewal and innovation. In order to rise above the crowd, there’s nothing better than a new cut, like these asymmetrical pants. We’re eager to see the commercial version of these trousers, although the Bottega Veneta, Coperni, Victoria Beckham and Louis Vuitton silhouettes have already won us over with their elegance and boldness.

Neo-wear

Following in the footsteps of asymmetrical pants, fashion is feeding its creative approach when it comes to wearing tops and bottoms – a dress worn inside out, a jumper turned into a skirt, a shirt revealing the shoulder or tops all tied together in a knot… The DIY approach to fashion takes hold at Fendi, Acne Studios, Dior, Loewe and Miu Miu.

The parka replaces the trench coat

Say goodbye to trench coats and hello to parkas, the flagship piece of the Spring/Summer 2025. Best worn over a glamorous rhinestone dress at Burberry, Prada or Rabanne, the parka will also be light, ornamented and with prints at Louis Vuitton.

When fashion flirts with art

A Tamara de Lempicka-inspired dress with the face of Kylie Jenner printed on it at Balmain, a silhouette made with a painting at Hodakova, a tribute to Van Gogh at Loewe or a blouse designed by Laurent Grasso at Louis Vuitton… Among the Spring/Summer 2025 trends, fashion and art are fostering closer ties.

The balletcore trend

Also inherited from the indie sleaze aesthetic, ballet flats had also left its mark in 2024. The balletcore trend still inspires fashion designers today. The former dancer Alain Paul, as well as Dior, Ferragamo and Simone Rocha, draw their inspiration from classical dancers to renew their sportswear style with elegance and grace.

The steady presence of floral patterns for the Spring/Summer 2025

Always relevant with the coming of spring, the floral pattern is now more reminiscent of an artwork than of a meadow in bloom – sparkling Jacquard weave at Saint Laurent, light silks at Versace, 3D embroidery at Coperni, or bouquets by florist Debeaulieu adorning the pieces at Zomer. These patterns are true contemporary ball gowns at Loewe and Marni, while Casey Cadwallader uses the flowers of his garden to create a powerful, poetic bustier for Mugler.
