Numéro Men has selected eleven denim total looks spotted on the runways of past menswear collections for an edgy and sophisticated silhouette.

    For his poetical Valentino collection, Pierpaolo Piccioli called upon French artist Mélanie Matranga to create adornments for some of the silhouettes. Here, the inscription reads “Bad Lover” and is embroided on a dark grey denim jacket.
    Denim, Paul Smith’s favourite fabric, is predominant throughout his Fall/Winter 2020–2021 collection, like this unisex jacket-and-trousers ensemble enhanced by the yellow topstitching.
    Inspired by 1970s Los Angeles, American designer Tom Ford offers a casual look combining denim tailored jacket and full-length trousers with a silk scarf, all in different shades of blue.
    Starting from six male archetypes, Paul Andrew created wardrobes for each of them at Salvatore Ferragamo. This grey denim jumpsuit, inspired by the quintessential biker style, is a case in point.
    A special guest at Pitti Uomo in 2020, New York designer Telfar Clemens presented his reinterpretation of menswear staples, including this buttoned jacket and extra-wide trousers, both cut from the same dark indigo denim.
    A young master of deconstruction, Glenn Martens pushes his exploration of cut and construction even further at Y/Project. Alongside dresses designed from satin strips and tops made to drape the waist, the designer unveiled jackets whose linings are turned outward and fastened with a button to enhance their asymmetry.
    Part of a bold and colourful collection with futuristic overtones, Taiwanese designer Angus Chiang cut this jacket and trousers from sky-blue denim printed with logos and checked patterns.
    Dutch designers Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh create committed, experimental collections that place upcycling at the core of their young label Botter. This large jacket with voluminous sleeves and turned-up trousers perfectly embody that vision.
    For E. Tautz, Patrick Grant celebrates British craftsmanship, while remaining mindful of contemporary concerns. Nearly half of the fabrics used in this collection are recycled and reintroduced through patchwork, like this oversized jumper and jeans.
    A leading figure of baroque and flamboyant fashion, Spanish designer Alejandro Palomo continually expresses his love for tailoring through his label Palomo Spain. Enhanced with a quilted lining and a flared cut, this distinctive denim jacket pairs perfectly with its high-waist, almost slim-fitting trousers.
    Ever since launching his label, Per Götesson has made denim his signature fabric in his oversized silhouettes. Here, the Swedish designer even turns it into a gathered cropped sweatshirt with hood and drawstring.
