Why do we love the accessories from the Moschino show?

Each season, Moschino makes quite an impression with runways packed with unusual and unexpected accessories. Numéro takes a closer look at the most surprising pieces from the Fall/Winter 2026-2027 collection designed by Adrian Appiolaza.

  • Argentina as an inspiration for the Fall/Winter 2026-2027 collection

Among the it-bags and trendy luxury handbags of the season, Moschino’s accessories clearly steal the spotlight. Season after season since 2024, Adrian Appiolaz, the brand’s creative director, has unveiled a series of extravagant bags, jewellery pieces and hats, whose (sur)real aesthetic and originality almost instantly go viral on social media.

For his Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show, the Argentine designer extends his vision. After creating a baguette-shaped bag and a minaudière covered in spaghetti, Moschino now presents a new wardrobe filled with quirky, ironic details.

Inspired by the designer’s childhood in Buenos Aires, the collection unfolds through a series of references drawn from the imagination and perspective of Adrian Appiolaza as a child. From classy, bourgeois ladies to groups of football-obsessed teenagers, not to mention tango dancers, all the archetypes that once filled the streets of his hometown are now revamped through exaggerated silhouettes. Torn ruffled dresses, cinched coats, peasant skirts adorned with a tiny tutu, compose this unique wardrobe.

We also spot Guanacos (llamas native to Argentina) embroidered onto sweaters like brooches. There is even a collaboration with the heirs of cartoonist Quino, with his famous character Mafalda printed on T-shirt dresses…

A Moschino show full of unexpected accessories

Within this childlike, cartoon universe, a whole host of trompe-l’œil accessories emerge. The Argentine designer’s signature pieces keep surprising us season after season. The handbags are playful, taking the shape of a bag of churros, a potted cactus, a piggy bank, or even a horse saddle.

We also love the hats adorned with bunny ears, the rotary telephone and silver picture frames, worn around the wrist by the models walking the Moschino Fall/Winter 2026-2027 catwalk.

On their feet, one can discover pumps mimicking the decorative details of a race car. There is also a pair covered in fake banknotes that match with a shirt and a suit pocket square. In short, the irony and humor characteristic of the Italian fashion house and its Argentine designer once again captivated us this Fashion Week.
