For her first show, Ester Manas unveils a 100% inclusive collection

Last July, Ester Manas and Balthazar Delepierre, the two creators behind the Ester Manas label, told Numéro espoir “that some people won’t have a stroke when they see a 100% inclusive show” – referring to their spring-summer 2022 collection presented this Saturday, October 2, 2021. Since the show,  we can now confirm that the health of no guest has been affected, but that their ultra-symbolic collection has strongly marked this Paris Fashion Week.

While Ester Manas has so far presented its collections virtually, the young Franco-Belgian label unveiled its very first show in person on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Entitled “Dress Different”, this spring-summer 2022 collection by Ester Manas and Balthazar Delepierre, the couple behind the label, sends a very strong signal to the fashion industry with a cast composed mainly of plus-size models. In a neutral décor devoid of any pomp and circumstance to sensual music, the first silhouettes appear, illustrating all skins and bodies. From the beginning of the show, Ester Manas reaffirmed her 100%  inclusive position by writing the word “Dress Different” on the first four looks of the show, including asymmetrical dresses and skirt-top sets with cut-outs revealing the hips, legs or shoulders. This is followed by “cowgirl-inspired” silhouettes, composed of typical cowboy hats but also prints evoking the “Manas Mountains”, where we can see mountains overlooked by a menacing eagle. Until then, the collection is as wearable as it is playful, always sexy without revealing too much.

However, just when the collection could have remained demure and minimalist, a model dressed in a gathered and transparent dress in a striking blue appears, and marks the beginning of a succession of silhouettes as sensual as they are successful. Several dresses, tops and close-fitting skirts were revealed throughout the show, and were available in neutral tones (white, black, grey, olive green). Still using the famous gathering technique so that the piece can be suitable for a size 34 as well as a size 50, Ester Manas offers An ultra-sexy wardrobe, which accompanies all shapes to sublimate them and which reveals the skins and curves of the silhouette in an elegant and contemporary way. There are transparent, asymmetrical, slit dresses or dresses with cutouts and ruffles, which enhance every part of the body, even those we tend to hate. Like the Austrian curtains, the pieces have skilfully constructed gathers that give the fabric a perfectly successful movement and sway.
