A Études Studio show inspired by the figure of the soundmaker

On January 20th, 2026, Études Studio unveiled its Fall/Winter 2026–2027 collection at IRCAM. Conceived as an immersive experience, the show explored the dialogue between clothing, music, and sound. The collection dived into the figure of the “soundmaker”, while reaffirming the interdisciplinary identity of the Parisian label.

  • Études Studio draws its inspiration from the figure of the musician

At Études Studio, each collection is built around an artistic figure, which serves as a cornerstone for developing a unique wardrobe. After the 1970s land art of the previous show presented in June 2025, the brand now turns its attention to the archetype of the musician in all its complexity. From the moment the audience steps into the venue, the experience is immersive. A live soundtrack composed by British artist Actress envelops the space.

For us, the soundmaker is both the musician and the visual artist using music as a medium,” Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Égry explained backstage. This reflection takes a visual form on the runway through a hybrid wardrobe. There, workwear pieces engage in a dialogue with more refined tailoring.

Zipped utility jackets, modular coats, and flowing silhouettes are paired with impeccably cut velvet suits reminiscent of the stage outfits worn by performers. The colour palette plays on deep blacks, greys, and browns, punctuated by subtle shades of violet. The whole intensifies the show’s almost mystical atmosphere.

Études Studio launches its first signature bag

As is often the case with Études Studio, the collection is enriched by artistic collaborations. The graphic prints were created in partnership with Canadian artist Jeremy Shaw. His work explores the effects of sound on the body and mind through immersive installations. The brand’s “É” logo, meanwhile, has been reimagined by Paul Nicholson. The latter is a cult figure of the British electronic scene, known for designing Aphex Twin’s iconic logo. It’s a deliberate nod to the musical cultures of the 1990s and 2000s, which have deeply influenced the brand’s founders.

Besides, this collection marks an important milestone for its co-founders, with the launch of their first accessory developed aside from any collaboration… A messenger bag available in different sizes and fabrics.

Keeping functionality and attitude in mind, the piece embraces a logic of durability and timelessness. “We didn’t want to create just another bag, but an object we could envision lasting over time,” Jérémie Égry shares. An accessory already easy to picture being worn on the street or on the way to work. It embodying the energy of a carefully constructed collection, where clothing becomes a subject of global and ever-fascinating conversation.
