An exhilarating Desigual Studio runway in Barcelona
On Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, Barcelona was in full party mode. In a shower of confetti, bathed in the golden glow of the sunset, the models of the very first Desigual Studio runway show emerged one after another, greeted by the applause of some 500 guests. The electrifying atmosphere pulsed to the frantic beats of Born Slippy by Underworld, the cult soundtrack of Trainspotting (1996). The evening closed with a spectacular finale matching Desigual’s new ambitions.
Indeed this season, and for the years to come, the Spanish brand is aiming higher. Staged at the former Badalone-Sant Adrià power station facing the sea, this radiant show was not just about unveiling a new collection like in 2024. It marked the launch of an entirely new line, named Desigual Studio.
With 32 urban and glamorous looks, Desigual emphasized fabric quality, craftsmanship, and know-how. Drawing on its 40-year archive, the brand revamped its own codes through vintage silhouettes. The label reclaimed some archival details with a great deal of care and creativity.
“With Desigual Studio, we want to show another face of Desigual while remaining faithful to our heritage. After months of hard work, my teams and I are very proud of this collection. It feels like a fresh start, filled with boundless creative freedom,” Vítor Neves Gouveia explained. The latter has led the brand’s design since 2023. In short, this September, Desigual revealed a new side of itself. One that is full of promise.

Desigual Studio: When heritage meets vision
Reinterpreting Desigual’s heritage through contemporary designs and premium fabrics like silk, leather, mohair, and cashmere? It seems that the Desigual Studio teams were up the challenge.
On close inspection, the brand’s bold and colorful Y2K DNA has been elevated and reinvented. Denim now comes adorned with cascades of zippers, while asymmetrical printed dresses remain, along with second-skin tops. Cargo pants are updated, double belts multiply. The long, thin scarves so emblematic of the 2000s make a grand comeback. Not to mention the heart, Desigual’s signature motif, which reappears on shoe heels and now extends to caps and pendants.
The Desigual show thrived on contrasts, with a steadfast determination to break free from conventions of every kind. The silhouettes where tight and oversized cuts meet, or looks pairing fur boots with revealing bodysuits – unexpected combinations that worked surprisingly well. “It is an immense emotion to present this collection,” Vítor Neves Gouveia shared a few hours before the show. A runway that marks a milestone in the future of the brand. One that, we hope, will be radiant.
