An ode to La Dolce Vita at the Chanel Cruise 2025–2026 Show
As we await the arrival of Matthieu Blazy, appointed artistic director of the house of Chanel in December 2024, the heavy task of designing the new Cruise 2025–2026 collection was entrusted to the Creation Studio. With the Villa d’Este and Lake Como as its magnificent backdrop, the collection was unveiled this Tuesday, April 29, in front of stars and close friends of the house, who gathered to witness the event.
by Louise Menard.

A Chanel collection enhanced by lake Como
The Chanel Cruise 2025–2026 show unfolded within the paradisiacal setting of the Villa d’Este. Regarded as one of the most coveted palaces in the world, this Renaissance palace on the shores of Lake Como hosted a select group of prestigious guests, including actresses Keira Knightley and Margaret Qualley.
Bathed in dazzling sunlight and exuding a strong White Lotus vibe, the show presented no fewer than 69 looks. As they strolled through column-lined hallways and across the hotel’s terrace, the models resembled wealthy heiresses basking in the pleasures of la dolce vita.
Also accompanied by a short film created by director Sofia Coppola, a longtime friend of the house, the collection evokes the work of filmmaker Luchino Visconti, who was close to Mademoiselle Chanel, and echoes her enduring taste for Italian-style luxury. In short, with a rich palette of pastel hues and sumptuous fabrics, Chanel sets the tone: summer will be carefree and lavish.

Glamorous summer silhouettes
A belted wrap dress, pearl necklaces, oversized sunglasses, beach totes, patent leather mules… The opening look set the scene for a parade of striped evening pajamas and flounced dresses in sky blue and peach pink. There were also lace cardigans, pristine puff-sleeved blouses, and straight-cut tweed suits.
This was a collection at the height of chic and nonchalance, rounded out by dramatic black taffeta ensembles paired with satin gloves. Some silhouettes ventured into bolder territory, featuring lamé capes and jewelry-like outfits in golden lurex damask.
Finally, in the accessories department, our attention was drawn to a small raffia minaudière adorned with the iconic double C, hats trimmed with delicate chiffon flowers, and silk scarves that Sophia Loren would surely have adored in the 1950s.
