3. Madame Web, Barbarella and Giorgio Armani’s My Way: a series of projects for the babydoll

The Cassie in Euphoria will soon be starring in the Marvel production Madame Web, alongside Dakota Johnson and Tahar Rahim, and in the much-anticipated remake of Barbarella, a cult film from the 1960s in which she will interpret the iconic role of the intergalactic adventurer saving the world in a bikini once played by Jane Fonda. Destined to enter the big league soon, the actress also has some projects in Hollywood, like The Players Table, The Caretaker, Reality, The Registration, National Anthem, and the third season of Euphoria. Keeping that in mind, the world of beauty and fashion can’t get enough of the actress – she has already modelled for Miu Miu. At the beginning of this year, the American lent her magnetic doll face to the Armani Beauty’s make-up collection and to Giorgio Armani’s My Way perfume. An altogether woody, floral, fresh, and powdery juice, which urges you to follow your own path in life and create your own rules. A lesson that Sydney Sweeney, an actress who knows what she wants, seems committed to apply.

1. Sydney Sweeney is the heroine of the romantic comedy “Anyone But You”

With her Bardot-like baby doll looks, her cute pout and daring outfits matching the barbiecore trend, Sydney Sweeney has become one of the coolest and most sought-after actresses of the moment at 26. Last year, Euphoria’s Cassie shone as a US Air Force veteran and whistleblower, who loves sports and animals in the intriguing spy thriller Reality. On Wednesday, January 24th, 2024, she completely changed registers with the romantic comedy Anyone But You. Starring alongside Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick), she embodies a young law student who pretends to be in a relationship with a banker at a wedding in Australia. The film, which alternates references to Shakespeare and Titanic, was a huge success with over $100 million at the U.S. box office.

The hyperactive actress is constantly on the move. On February 14th, 2024, Sydney Sweeney will be starring in the Marvel film Madame Web, alongside Dakota Johnson and Tahar Rahim, and she will later appear in the eagerly-awaited remake of Barbarella, the cult B-movie from the 1960s, in which she will reinterpret Jane Fonda’s iconic role as the intergalactic adventurer saving the world in a bikini. The actress destined to play with the big dogs in the very near future also has projects in Hollywood: Eden, Immaculate, The Players Table, The Caretaker, The Registration, Americana, and the season 3 of Euphoria.

2. The actress plays in two iconic series: The White Lotus and Euphoria

The audience has seen Sydney Sweeney in films with powerful universes – Quentin Tarantino’s dreamlike, bewildering Under the Silver Lake or the demented Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood – as well as in cult series, like The Handmaid’s Tale, Sharp Objects, The White Lotus. But her career skyrocketed thanks to the role of Cassie, a sweet, popular teenager who becomes the victim of several toxic love relationships and slut-shaming, in the phenomenon series Euphoria.

A large part of Gen Z, who, like her character, suffers from insecurities to the point of trying everything to be loved, recognizes themselves in her. But she also represents a divisive character, whom many Euphoria fans love to hate because she’s dating the ex-boyfriend of her bestie Maddie. The actress made it crystal clear that she should not be confused with her character, who embodies the hypersexualization of teenage girls and the consequences of this trend.

3. Sydney Sweeney loves a challenge

Born in Spokane, Washington, Sydney Sweeney prides herself on choosing roles in exciting film projects. Her main motivation? Playing challenging characters. As the new face of Giorgio Armani’s new fragrance, My Way, the star detailed how she chooses her roles: “I love finding characters who challenge me and my audience. I’m really excited about the projects I have been working on over the past year, because they are all very unique, special journeys.”

About her collaborations with film directors, the star adds: “I think that each experience differs depending on the film director and the character that I’m playing. Each director brings out a different aspect of me, and I love learning how they approach their craft.”

4. A determined star, from MMA champion to producer

In Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney shows that she can excel in a wide range of registers, navigating from beautiful smiles to truer-than-life tears. The actress, who used to be a regional MMA champion as a teenager and now restores vintage cars and paints pottery, often plays dual roles, portraying an image that is at times fragile, powerful, reassuring or disturbing.

She finds the perfect balance between the incandescent, erotic lolita, the charming ingenue and the mean girl. Her broad spectrum of emotions suggests that her career is still in the making. Determined, Sydney Sweeney had convinced her parents to let her audition for her first role at the age of 12 with a career plan spanning many years made on PowerPoint. The woman who founded her own production company, Fifty-Fifty Films, guessed right…

5. Sydney Sweeney is the new face of Giorgio Armani’s fragrance My Way

The world of beauty and fashion – she modeled for Miu Miu – is also snapping up the actress. The American started the year with her magnetic doll-like looks as the new face of Armani beauty make-up collections and Giorgio Armani’s fragrance My Way. A woody, flowery, fresh and powdery juice, which invites us to follow our own path in life and set our own rules.

A lesson that Sydney Sweeney, an actress who knows what she wants, seems determined to apply. About that new adventure, the actress explained: “Mr. Armani said: ‘I believe that beauty comes first from within’, and I have always believed in that too. The Armani woman is bold, independent and fearless. And when I am wearing My Way, I feel like I’m putting on my armor, ready to explore the world, no matter what I’m wearing. It’s a fresh fragrance that encapsulates the experiences and travels that I have made.”
