I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time (2008) by Mariah Carey, Man Down (2010) by Rihanna, Feels by Calvin Harris featuring Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry & Big Sean (2017)… So many summer hits we tend to hold dear because they often bring back fond memories. Sometimes, the intrinsic quality of the track doesn’t matter that much.
Clubbing with friends, impromptu karaoke sessions, beach days, summer flings… Many associate a usually upbeat and radiant song with a defining moment. Even the most cynical among us… for whom this kind of track is a guilty pleasure as precious as it is unmentionable in polite company.

Aya Nakamura, Tyla, Charli XCX… The summer hits of 2025
Historically, the “summer hit” refers to the most played song of that season, sometimes to the point of exhaustion. While the concept does carry marketing undertones, many euphoric tracks meant to last as long as a mocktail only, still live rent-free in our hearts.
Take Dance the Night (2023) by Dua Lipa, Flowers (2023) by Miley Cyrus, or Beso (2023) by Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro. These tracks haven’t left our playlists for the past two years.
We’re also still listening to the summer hits of 2024. The fun and flirty Espresso (2024) by Sabrina Carpenter, the sultry and sun-drenched Truth or Dare (2024) by Tyla, or Charli XCX’s glitzy 360 are still relevant. Although practically every track on the album Brat could make the cut.
The Weeknd, Bad Bunny and Addison Rae in the summer 2025 playlist
This year, Numéro is betting on some strong new contenders for the title of irresistible summer hit: Charli XCX’s Party 4 u is back on our speakers in 2025 thanks to the frenzy surrounding the release of her album Brat in 2024.
This summer, Theodora (Fashion Designa), Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Aya Nakamura (Baddies), and Sabrina Carpenter (Manchild) are also expected to fill the playlists of music lovers. The same goes for Addison Rae, Tate McRae, and Miley Cyrus, since all three of have released albums packed with dancefloor hits in 2025.
