The Beauty, Ryan Murphy’s new project starring Bella Hadid

One of the most iconic figures in contemporary fashion seems determined to conquer another industry – that of cinema. American model Bella Hadid will be starring in The Beauty, Ryan Murphy‘s new drama series developed for FX. The creator behind Pose and American Horror Story will unveil his wild and intriguing new project exclusively on Disney+ on January 22nd, 2026.

Already spotted on set in Paris wearing a red leather outfit, Bella Hadid will share the screen with Evan Peters, Amelia Gray, Ashton Kutcher, Jeremy Pope, Anthony Ramos, Rebecca Hall, Isabella Rossellini, Ben Platt, Pedro Pascal’s sister Lux Pascal, Meghan Trainor, Nicola Peltz Beckham, Peter Gallagher, and Vincent D’Onofrio.

A series set in the fashion world

Co-created with Matthew Hodgson, The Beauty opens with a disturbing premise. A sexually transmitted disease suddenly appears and, instead of destroying the body, it enhances it. But sudden beauty always comes at a cost. In this story, two partners dive into an investigation that takes them to the dark edges of power, desire, and government corruption. One question will be raised… What price are you willing to pay for perfection?

On paper, this dystopian thriller evokes both It Follows (2014) by David Robert Mitchell and The Substance by Coralie Fargeat. According to the Disney+ press release, the series will also take place in the world of fashion, which explains the presence of real-life models in the cast.

Indeed, the synopsis reads: “The fashion world turns dark when international supermodels begin dying in gruesome and mysterious ways. FBI agents Cooper Madsen (Evan Peters) and Jordan Bennett (Rebecca Hall) are sent to Paris to uncover the truth.”

Yellowstone, an American epic with Kevin Costner and Bella Hadid

One question remains… Does Bella Hadid intend to pursue a career in television and film? Before The Beauty, the 29-year-old model had already made an appearance in Yellowstone in 2024. Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, the series, broadcast on Netflix, has established itself as a landmark of today’s television program. And Kevin Costner’s performance as Josh Dutton, a Montana rancher, had a lot to do with it. First airing in 2018, that family saga won over audiences with its sweeping landscapes, gripping drama, and deep reflections on legacy and power.

The show follows the Duttons, a family who owns the largest ranch in the United States. This land is inevitably coveted by real estate developers, energy companies, and Native American nations that tirelessly claim it as their ancestral territory. Alongside Kevin Costner’s character – a relentless patriarch willing to do anything to protect his empire – complex characters evolve in that story, including Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), a brilliant, yet tormented woman, and Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes), torn between his military past and his family responsibilities.

A perfect western series for a horsewoman

The series is also a veiled social critique, exposing the many fractures within American society – racial tensions, economic inequality, and environmental issues. The Native American struggle to reclaim their land, as embodied by the character Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham), is another layer to that narrative.

After five seasons, aired between 2018 and 2024, supermodel Bella Hadid made an appearance in the thirteenth episode of the fifth season. She played Safdie, the companion of Travis Wheatley, a cowboy and professional rider who regularly buys, sells, and trades horses with various other ranches, including Yellowstone. Portrayed by Taylor Sheridan, the show’s creator, the audience see him engaged in a game of strip poker with several women… Including Bella Hadid, who is a skilled equestrian herself off-screen.
