Seventeen years after the final episodes of Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker steps back into the iconic role of Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City spinoff And Just Like That…, an updated version of the universe of Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte.

#MeToo, media scandals, and epic ambitions… The Morning Show continues its relevant dive into the trials of the media industry. From Covid-19 to the war in Ukraine, the series strongly resonates with current events.
The plot? Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon play rival anchors on a morning TV show. Aniston’s character, Alex Levy, is a seasoned journalist who had to part ways with her former colleague and friend, who was accused of sexual harassment. Meanwhile, Witherspoon’s character, Bradley Jackson, has entered the industry more recently, bringing with her a dose of irreverence.

The series The Buccaneers returns for a second season, scheduled for June 18th, 2025, on Apple TV+. Delayed by the Hollywood strike that hit the industry in 2023, the season 5 of Stranger Things is finally taking shape. Netflix confirmed in an initial preview that this fifth and final installment is expected to hit the platform sometime in 2025. Set in the fall of 1987, one year after the events of season 4, this new chapter will see Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and her friends face off against even darker forces. Which members of the Hawkins gang will make it out unscathed?

Wednesday season 2 starring Jenna Ortega and Lady Gaga
Good news for fans of The Addams Family universe (1991): Netflix has prepared a second season of Wednesday, and the shooting, which took place in Ireland, has been completed. As for the cast, Jenna Ortega returns as the deadpan young girl alongside a new face: the Coen brothers’ favorite actor, the excellent Steve Buscemi.
Another surprise, pop icon Lady Gaga, whose sped-up version of Bloody Mary generated viral TikTok videos replicating Wednesday’s dance choreography, will also make an appearance. After earning an Emmy Award nomination for Best Actress in 2023, could Jenna Ortega take the coveted statuette home thanks to this new season?

The Bear season 4 starring Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri
A resounding success right from the start in 2022, the series The Bear is about to unveil its new season. Directed and written by Christopher Storer, the show explores the triumphs and trials of a neighborhood sandwich shop in Chicago. Jeremy Allen White plays Carmy, the brooding, yet irresistibly charming chef at the helm of the kitchen – supported by rising star Sydney (Ayo Edebiri). Starring Ebon Bachrach-Moss and Lisa Colón-Zayas, the series has racked up numerous awards at major film and television events.
With a total of 21 Emmy Awards and 5 Golden Globes in just three years, the series The Bear might just pull off the same feat with season 4. In a short teaser unveiled last March, the cast appears all smiles in this new chapter. Will the restaurant finally earn its first Michelin star? Will Carmy and Sydney’s dreams of glory finally come true?

Alien: Earth, the spin-off of Ridley Scott’s saga
Produced by Hulu, the series Alien: Earth will be released in France on Disney+ and will star Sydney Chandler (Don’t Worry Darling), Timothy Olyphant (Scream 2), and Alex Lawther (The End of the F**king World) – fresh cast for this show originally scheduled for 2024. Alien: Earth will tell the story of the first Xenomorph’s arrival on Earth, an event set prior to Ridley Scott’s 1979 film. The series was put on hold for a long time due to the Hollywood strike… At the helm is Noah Hawley, creator of the series Fargo.

Welcome to Derry, the prequel to the horror movie It
Scheduled for release in 2025, the series Welcome to Derry takes us back to the small town of Derry, where the evil clown Pennywise, played by Bill Skarsgård, spreads terror. Following the huge success of the It films released in 2017 and 2019, adapted from Stephen King’s eponymous novel, HBO will be conducting the series.
A darker prequel set in the 1960s, directed by Andrés Muschietti, who also directed the two previous ones. It will follow a group of friends willing to do anything to find a missing loved one. The nine-episode series promises its share of red balloons, devious clowns, and a good dose of chills.

Blade Runner 2099, starring Hunter Schafer and Michelle Yeoh
Undoubtedly one of the most iconic works of science fiction, the cyberpunk universe of Blade Runner will have its own series adaptation, after Ridley Scott’s original 1982 film and Denis Villeneuve’s 2017 sequel. Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once) takes the lead role in this project set fifty years after the original film. Hunter Schafer, the breakout star of Euphoria, will also join the cast of this sequel titled Blade Runner 2099, an adaptation of a novel by Philip K. Dick, and produced by Ridley Scott.

Among other highly anticipated shows for 2025, we should also see several sequels like the third season of Squid Game (Netflix) starring Lee Jung-jae or the third season of the historical series The Gilded Age (Max).
Other projects seeking to adapt already existing works for the small screen. First in line: the series Merteuil (Max), inspired by the novel Dangerous Liaisons, and starring Diane Kruger, Anamaria Vartolomei, and Lucas Bravo.
Meanwhile, Sophie Turner will follow in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander in a series adapted from Tomb Raider (Prime Video). The platform will also produce a series inspired by Carrie, Brian De Palma’s cult 1976 film. Finally, Netflix will be conducting a new iteration of Pride and Prejudice starring Emma Corrin, Olivia Colman, and Jack Lowden.
2025 is also set to highlight original series. Netflix will produce the drama Black Rabbit starring Jude Law and Lena Dunham (Girls) returns to the small screen with Too Much on Netflix, a romantic comedy starring Adèle Exarchopoulos and Emily Ratajkowski. Finally, Apple TV+ is planning a dive into the art world with The Dealer, a program starring Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver.
