The most anticipated albums of 2025
2024 was marked by the release of several major albums from Charli XCX, Beyoncé, Billie Eilish. Numéro has selected the most anticipated records of 2025, from Lana Del Rey to Sabrina Carpenter, Rosalía and Lorde.
by Violaine Schütz,
and Jordan Bako.

2025 began with exclusive records from Bad Bunny, Selena Gomez, Franz Ferdinand, Ethel Cain and Mac Miller. But new releases from Tyla, Olivia Rodrigo, Ethel Cain and Harry Styles could also be on the horizon.
Regarding French releases, singers Solann, Miki and Eloi have made the news with their highly-anticipated albums. Moreover, diva Céline Dion could make her big comeback to the record stores. Here’s an overview of the albums generating the most excitement for our editorial team at Numéro.
Lana Del Rey to release a new album in 2025
The American artist recently announced her tenth studio album, initially slated for May 21, 2025, but later delayed. Following the stunning Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd (2023), Lana Del Rey is reportedly taking a southern gothic turn with her new project, once titled Lasso, then The Right Person Will Stay, before being left without an official name. Still, she says her new songs won’t stray far from her previous style.
The record could also explore country influences — a genre experiencing a renaissance thanks to Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter. In the meantime, fans can enjoy the country-rap duet Tough with Quavo, as well as the beautiful single Henry, Come On.
The album currently has no confirmed release date.
Indie pop prodigy Lorde returns with a new album
Lorde’s debut in the music industry was a breath of fresh air for the indie pop scene. When she released her first album, Pure Heroine, in 2013 at the age of 17, she quickly established herself as one of the most promising artists in the genre. Sometimes brooding, at times uplifting, the melodies composed by the New Zealander have marked the advent of a distinctly Gen Z sound in the music industry. Just look at Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo or Gracie Abrams – artists from the same generation who cite Lorde as a major inspiration…
After the excellent Melodrama (2017), Lorde returned to the spotlight with Solar Power in 2022. A more serene album than her previous ones, yet it didn’t receive the same success. This year, however, the singer seems to be teasing an electro-pop album titled Virgin, following in the footsteps of Charli XCX’s essential Brat. Could we be on the verge of a “Lorde Summer 2025”?
Virgin by Lorde, coming out on June 27th.
I Quit, the fourth album of the band Haim
Last we heard from the Haim sisters was when their third record Women in Music Pt. III came out. It was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2020 Grammy Awards. Since then, the three members have each ventured into exciting artistic paths. Este, the eldest, worked as a music consultant for the season 2 of The White Lotus. Danielle, the middle sister, recently featured on a track from Bon Iver’s latest album. And Alana, the youngest, has stepped into the film industry with standout roles – first in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza, and soon in The Mastermind by Kelly Reichardt, in competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
Alongside these thrilling projects, the Haim sisters are far from finished with the music industry. They’re about to release their fourth album, cheekily titled I Quit. Judging by the early singles already available, the record promises to be the perfect continuation of their signature blend of pop, rock and R’n’B sounds.
I Quit by Haim, coming out on June 20th, 2025.
Man’s Best Friend, Sabrina Carpenter’s daring new album
Just a year after her latest release Short n’ Sweet (2024), Sabrina Carpenter has once and for all shed her Disney princess image. The babydoll pop star and her Polly Pocket looks delivered myriads of playful pop tracks with cheeky, sharp lyrics, sung with both humor and sensuality. No wonder we’re all waiting for the follow-up to her Grammy-winning Best Pop Album of 2024.
Titled Man’s Best Friend, the new pop opus is already stirring controversy, even though only one single, Manchild, along with the album cover have been released. The visual features the 26-year-old star in a provocative position – crouching on all fours, her hair grasped by a man out of frame, like a leash. Resolutely memorable in 2024, could Sabrina Carpenter extend her reign with this new record? If the buzz around the album cover is indicative in any way, Man’s Best Friend is sure to get people talking.
Man’s Best Friend (2025) by Sabrina Carpenter, coming out on August 29th, 2025.
A$AP Rocky’s new opus Don’t Be Dumb
Few details have emerged about A$AP Rocky’s long-awaited fifth album, Don’t Be Dumb, but rumors hint at collaborations with Mike Dean, Tyler, The Creator, and Pharrell Williams. Originally set for August 30, 2024, the release was pushed to fall 2024 and then to 2025. To tide fans over, Rocky launched a capsule clothing line featuring the album title.
The melancholic single Highjack, featuring folk singer Jessica Pratt, gives a haunting glimpse of what’s to come. This marks his first album release since Testing in 2018.
Don’t Be Dumb (2025) by A$AP Rocky, doesn’t have a release date yet.
Rosalía’s new album after the groundbreaking Motomami
After shaking things up with the bold and sensual Motomami in 2022, Rosalía has been hinting on social media that a new album may be on the horizon. Bloody Halloween photos captioned “R4” and an end-of-year recap post mentioning a 2025 release suggest something is coming, though the musical direction remains a mystery. With a track record of boundary-pushing experimentation, expectations are sky-high.
Rosalía’s new album doesn’t have a release date yet.

Doja Cat’s new project Vie
Doja Cat has chosen a French word — “Vie” — for her next album. While details remain scarce, a series of elegant and vintage-inspired visuals suggest a stylistic shift. Known for her transformation from the bubblegum pop of Amara (2018) to the dark, introspective Scarlet, she now seems to be exploring more romantic themes.
Vie by Doja Cat doesn’t have a release date yet.
Rihanna’s big musical comeback in 2025?
This isn’t just one of the most anticipated albums of 2025 — it’s also been hotly awaited in 2024, 2023, 2022, and even earlier. In recent years, singer Rihanna seemed deeply focused on her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty, and her lingerie brand, Savage x Fenty. Still, many fans continue to dream of her return to music… With an upcoming album from her partner A$AP Rocky, it’s easy to imagine the star making a feature on his record. Will 2025 finally be the year of an all-new release from Riri? We can only hope.
Rihanna’s new album has no confirmed release date.
