The most anticipated albums of 2025
After a 2024 marked by the release of major records from Charli XCX, Beyoncé, and Billie Eilish, Numéro has selected the most eagerly awaited albums of 2025 — from Lana Del Rey to Miley Cyrus, with Rosalía and Doja Cat in between.
by Violaine Schütz,

2025 kicked off with new releases by Bad Bunny, Selena Gomez, Franz Ferdinand, Ethel Cain, and Mac Miller. But more albums from Tyla, Damso, Ethel Cain, and Harry Styles could be on the way. On the French scene, singers Solann, Miki, and Eloi have already created a buzz with their highly anticipated new albums. And diva Céline Dion might even make a long-awaited return to the spotlight. Here’s a look at the releases generating the most excitement at the Numéro editorial office.
Lana Del Rey to release a new album in 2025
The American artist recently announced her tenth studio album, initially slated for May 21, 2025, but later delayed. Following the stunning Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd (2023), Lana Del Rey is reportedly taking a southern gothic turn with her new project, once titled Lasso, then The Right Person Will Stay, before being left without an official name. Still, she says her new songs won’t stray far from her previous style.
The record could also explore country influences — a genre experiencing a renaissance thanks to Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter. In the meantime, fans can enjoy the country-rap duet Tough with Quavo, as well as the beautiful single Henry, Come On.
The album currently has no confirmed release date.
A$AP Rocky’s new opus Don’t Be Dumb
Few details have emerged about A$AP Rocky’s long-awaited fifth album, Don’t Be Dumb, but rumors hint at collaborations with Mike Dean, Tyler, The Creator, and Pharrell Williams. Originally set for August 30, 2024, the release was pushed to fall 2024 and then to 2025. To tide fans over, Rocky launched a capsule clothing line featuring the album title.
The melancholic single Highjack, featuring folk singer Jessica Pratt, gives a haunting glimpse of what’s to come. This marks his first album release since Testing in 2018.
Don’t Be Dumb (2025) by A$AP Rocky, doesn’t have a release date yet.
Rosalía’s new album after the groundbreaking Motomami
After shaking things up with the bold and sensual Motomami in 2022, Rosalía has been hinting on social media that a new album may be on the horizon. Bloody Halloween photos captioned “R4” and an end-of-year recap post mentioning a 2025 release suggest something is coming, though the musical direction remains a mystery. With a track record of boundary-pushing experimentation, expectations are sky-high.
Rosalía’s new album doesn’t have a release date yet.
Miley Cyrus’s Something Beautiful, one of the most anticipated albums of the year
One of the biggest surprises of late 2024 and among the most anticipated records of 2025, Miley Cyrus‘s upcoming album Something Beautiful is set for release on May 30. The cover features a glamorous Miley in vintage Thierry Mugler couture.
Musically, the album draws inspiration from Panos Cosmatos’s horror film Mandy and Pink Floyd’s legendary The Wall. It will be accompanied by a film, produced by Cyrus herself, premiering in June. A blend of destruction and heartbreak, it promises to be as eclectic as it is emotional.
Something Beautiful de Miley Cyrus, available May 30 2025.
Sincerely, Kali Uchis’s fifth opus
In March 2025, R&B singer Kali Uchis announced her fifth studio album in English, Sincerely, via social media. Due on May 9, it follows her album Orquídeas and is led by the stunning single Sunshine & Rain…. Released on Capitol Records, the album promises deeply personal lyrics, possibly reflecting her journey into motherhood.
Sincerely by Kali Uchis, available May 9 2025.
Doja Cat’s new project Vie
Doja Cat has chosen a French word — “Vie” — for her next album. While details remain scarce, a series of elegant and vintage-inspired visuals suggest a stylistic shift. Known for her transformation from the bubblegum pop of Amara (2018) to the dark, introspective Scarlet, she now seems to be exploring more romantic themes.
Vie by Doja Cat doesn’t have a release date yet.
Pop music’s new superstar Addison Rae releases first album
The rising pop star Addison Rae has everyone talking ahead of her debut album High Fashion, scheduled for release on June 6, 2025 — a date she revealed via cheeky underwear at an Arca live set during Coachella. Rumors hint at collaborations with Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, and Tate McRae, with pop mastermind Max Martin (Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande) producing several tracks.
Addison Rae’s new album will be released June 6 2025.
PinkPantheress’s new mixtape , the TikTok-born producer evolves
With her most recent album Heaven Knows (2023), PinkPantheress seemed to be breaking free — moving past the short, catchy tracks that made her popular on TikTok early in her career. At only 23, her rise was meteoric: from posting brief songs on SoundCloud to becoming a breakout star on Gen Z’s favorite platform.
Crowned Producer of the Year by Billboard in 2024, she’s collaborated with some of today’s hottest artists — including rappers Ice Spice and Central Cee, UK house sensation Shygirl, and the K-pop group Le Sserafim. On March 26, 2025, she gave fans a first glimpse of what’s next, announcing a brand-new mixtape. This upcoming release raises the question: will PinkPantheress finally break away from the image of a TikTok discovery with this project?
Rihanna’s big musical comeback in 2025?
This isn’t just one of the most anticipated albums of 2025 — it’s also been hotly awaited in 2024, 2023, 2022, and even earlier. In recent years, singer Rihanna seemed deeply focused on her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty, and her lingerie brand, Savage x Fenty. Still, many fans continue to dream of her return to music… With an upcoming album from her partner A$AP Rocky, it’s easy to imagine the star making a feature on his record. Will 2025 finally be the year of an all-new release from Riri? We can only hope.
Rihanna’s new album has no confirmed release date.
The most anticipated and already released albums of 2025
Eusexua by FKA twigs
It was one of 2025’s most eagerly awaited albums. After two critically acclaimed records — including the outstanding Magdalene (2019) — FKA twigs drew inspiration from Prague’s rave scene between film shoots for The Crow.
The artist’s bewitching world absorbs the techno basslines of Czech clubs to shape her new 2025 album, Eusexua. Driven by the frenetic title single, co-produced with Eartheater, the record blends electronic and pop sounds. It’s also accompanied by several music videos in which the British singer once again showcases her extraordinary dance talents. With Eusexua, is FKA twigs offering a worthy follow-up to Charli XCX’s Brat?
Eusexua (2025) by FKA twigs is out now. She performs live on June 8 at the We Love Green festival.
Mayhem, Lady Gaga’s new disco-inspired record
After releasing an album last year inspired by the world of Harley Quinn, Lady Gaga unveiled a brand-new record in March 2025, titled Mayhem. During her stay in Paris for the Olympic Games’ opening ceremony, the singer played two snippets of the album for fans outside her hotel. Some listeners thought they recognized Gesaffelstein’s touch — and they were right: the producer features on this colorful and eccentric record, which swings between pop, disco, funk, electro, and rock.
Mayhem by Lady Gaga is now available.
Hurry Up Tomorrow by The Weeknd, one of the best albums of 2025
A master of mystery, producer The Weeknd shared a teaser on YouTube a few months ago for a new musical project — without revealing any date or title. The video, titled Unprepared Certainty, shows a frightened child entering a house seemingly haunted by dark memories, later comforted by his mother. Sonically, the synthetic snippet recalled the Canadian artist’s earlier productions, but with a deep layer of melancholy.
This was a fitting prelude to his new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, released in January 2025 — the final installment in a trilogy that began with After Hours (2020) and continued with Dawn FM (2022). The album includes stunning singles like Dancing in the Flames and São Paulo.
The producer is also preparing a feature film to accompany the album. The cast? Actress Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. It will be a psychological thriller echoing the album’s themes, set for theatrical release on May 16, 2025.
