The Unusual Suspects, a new mini-series as delirious as it is critical, arrives on OCS on November 16. On a huge extravagant evening in Sydney,  A necklace worth $16 million is stolen. From Sara Beasley – the star of the series –  to Evie De La Rosa, his Filipino nurse: everyone is suspected. As the lives of the two women are shattered, they form an alliance to turn the situation around.

When Big Little Lies meets Desperate Housewives, the mix can only be explosive. In The Unusual Suspects – the new OCS mini-series – the two cult universes merge. Postcard landscapes, Westerners on a sabbatical… The Australian capital sells dreams Sara Beasley,  played by Miranda Otto, is  of formidable business and influence in sight,  living in one of the most upscale areas of Sydney with his three children. His life seems to be a fairy tale. While her Filipino domestic worker,  tired of waiting for her paycheck,  decides to revolt, Evie discovers that her boss is ruined. When a necklace worth $16 million is stolen at an extravagant birthday party, everyone from Sara Beasley to Evie De La Rosa is suspected . By a combination of circumstances, the two women, who are complete opposites,  join forces to turn the situation to their advantage.

 

 

This social satire with fierce humour delves into the heart of the important  Filipino community present in Sydney. A promised land for many Filipinos, Australia welcomes several million domestic workers each year. A tragicomic farce, The Unusual Suspects laughs at the delirious differences in living standards present in the Australian metropolis. As biting as it is disconcerting, this mini-series reveals five female characters on the verge of a nervous breakdown! The police investigation reveals  the cracks in the sparkling façade of the Vaucluse, shedding light on hidden rivalries, shady affairs and forbidden liaisons…

A happy mix of Big Little Lies and Desperate Housewives, the series features Sara Beasley,  played by Miranda Otto, a prominent influencer and formidable businesswoman, living in one of Sydney’s most upscale neighborhoods with her three children. His life seems to be a fairy tale. But when Evie – her Filipino domestic worker tired of waiting for her pay – decides to revolt, she discovers that her boss is ruined… So when a necklace worth $16 million is stolen during an extravagant birthday party, the whole gang is under suspicion. The two women in conflict  will then form an alliance, hoping to turn the situation to their advantage.
