Mariah the Scientist, the R’n’B singer endorsed by Rihanna
The charismatic Maria Buckles alias Mariah the Scientist, a 27-year-old singer from Atlanta, well-known for her collaboration with Young Thug and Lil Baby, seems to know it all in R’n’B. Her songs, inspired by Mariah (Carey), OutKast and Frank Ocean, speak about complicated love stories and often blend gloom with sensuality.
As a Coachella headliner, she proves with the release in August 2025 of her fourth album, titled Hearts Sold Separately, that she deserves her spot on the R’n’B stage. It features the hit Burning Blue (endorsed by Rihanna), the perfect track to warm up our back-to-work season.

Jade, a glaring hope from Little Mix
Following her departure from Little Mix, Jade Thirlwall alias Jade, is a singer to follow closely in 2025. Despite Little Mix’s break from the industry in 2022, Jade still pursues music with a pop, disco and R’n’B edge. In October 2024, the performer unveiled a successful single : Fantasy. This is one of the most polished hits of the year, with a well-executed disco and 1980s-inspired music video (directed by David LaChapelle) that pays tribute to Carrie(1976).
In September 2025, the British vocalist will release her solo debut album, That’s Showbiz Baby!, including already released singles (Angels of my Dream, Fantasy). Anticipation is high for this album, expected to be incredible.

Laufey, the vocalist that introduces Gen Z to jazz
The Icelandic singer-songwriter Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir alias Laufey succeeded where many failed : she made the TikTok generation listen to jazz. A genre that tends to captivate adults more fruitfully. In all three albums, including A Matter of Time released in August 2025, the piano and cello player shows the wide range of her talent – blending jazz and pop. Her greatest asset, as a devotee of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday ? A soft, delicate voice. Cherry on the cake ? Her retro-inspired visual world-building, infused with subtle fairy tale elements.

Luvcat, the rock singer influenced by Nick Cave and The Libertines
If Nick Cave and Lana del Rey had a daughter, she would be Luvcat. Dressed up in a pin-up gothic aesthetic and with an amazing stage presence, the performer, raised in Liverpool, layers romance with bewitching songs, as shown in Matador or more recently the single Love & Money (2025) – that refers to the playful conversation between the singer and her ex-partner, hinting unseriously at making a sextape.
Her magnetic voice and theatrical world recall the same dim ambiance of cabarets, where love and tragedy intertwine. Between feverish rock and reflective poetry, Luvcat composes a romantic soundtrack, as elegant as it is tormented. Noticed for being the concert opening of The Libertines and the pop rock band The Last Dinner Party, the musician recently performed at Rock en Seine Festival. She will release in October 2025 her debut album, Vicious Delicious, which is sure to resonate with a broad audience.
Vicious Delicious (2025) by Luvcat, available now.
Lola Young, the pop-soul sensation who collaborated with Tyler, The Creator
At the young age of 24, the singer and songwriter Lola Young has established herself as the new musical sensation to watch (very) closely. Seen on the last Tyler, The Creator’s album in late 2024 (on Like Him), the musician raised in the south of London has the gift to offer pop-soul-rock songs that have the potential to become instant hits.
Nominated as the 2021 Rising Star by the Brit Award, Lola Young only counts two albums, the last one released in July 2024 and titled This Wasn’t Meant for You Anyway. It took her song Messy to exceed everyone’s expectations and meet instant success on TikTok.
A catchy anthem that extols self-love, as opposed to the clean girl aesthetic. An opportunity for the songwriter to explore a messy side of herself, confiding in her lyrics about being diagnosed with ADHD. She was even noticed by pop star Katy Perry, who congratulated her personally on Instagram.
I’m Only F**king Myself (2025) by Lola Young, available now.
