Loved or loathed, Netflix’s series Bridgerton makes a comeback

Netflix’s show Bridgerton created by Chris Van Dusen will be back with season 2 on March 25th. At a crossroads between classic shows like Gossip Girl (2007) and Downtown Abbey (2010), the family romance based on Julia Quinn’s eponymous novels and starring Jonathan Bailey will now focus on Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s love quest.

They are eight of them. Eight children from the great Bridgerton family, all looking for the same thing: love and happiness. In the first season, the elder sister Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) was the one who took her first steps into adulthood. She was desperately searching for love in a Bourgeois society, in which there was no margin for error. She found love when she met Simon Basset Duke of Hastings, played by Regé-Jean Page (The Gray Man).

In season 2, her older brother Viscount Anthony Bridgerton is the one who finds love eventually. Already being the picky one in the first season, the gentleman has to roll up his sleeves to find the one and only who would take his heart and help him keep his title in order to maintain the Bridgerton’s name. New characters make their entrance like Kate (Simone Ashley, seen in Sex Education) and her younger sister Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), who both comes from India. Who will help Viscount Bridgerton in his search for absolute nobility? The answer to that question will be revealed on March 25th on Netflix.
