Having opened for Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan has been embraced by major figures such as Troye Sivan, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, and Elton John. Awarded at the 2025 Grammy Awards, she is now just as renowned for her electrifying music as for her strong stances (notably on musicians’ mental health) and her bold, burlesque sense of style.
Looks inspired by drag queens
On stage and at public appearances, Chappell Roan champions a camp and flamboyant aesthetic reminiscent of Lady Gaga’s extravagance and the iconic drag queen Divine, muse of John Waters.
Donning Joan of Arc-style armor, a shimmering majorette bodysuit, a Statue of Liberty cosplay, colorful wrestler outfits, circus-inspired makeup, porcelain-like skin… The 27-year-old queer singer from the Midwest draws from cabaret, aerobics, and theater to create unforgettable looks. In her early days, Chappell Roan crafted some of her own costumes and posted makeup tutorials for fans, even suggesting dress codes for her concerts.
