A new series based on The Count of Monte Cristo and the american remake of The Bureau on the lineup

The festival promises numerous world premieres. We’re especially eager to discover The Agency (Canal+), an American adaptation of the hit French series The Bureau (2015–2020), starring Michael Fassbender and Richard Gere, and co-produced by George Clooney. Other premieres include The Walking Dead: Dead City (Ciné+ OCS), a spin-off of The Walking Dead; Malditos (Max), starring Céline Sallette and Damien Bonnard; and Duster (Max), a dive into the 1970s underworld from J.J. Abrams (Alias, Lost).

One of the highlights of the festival will be the screening of the first episodes of The Count of Monte Cristo (France Télévisions), a French-Italian series directed by Bille August and starring Ana Girardot, Jeremy Irons, and Sam Claflin. Following the success of the film adaptation starring Pierre Niney, will this new take on the story of a young sailor wrongfully accused of treason achieve the same acclaim? We’ll find out in late April, during the festival, where Numéro will be on the ground.
