  • The Saint Laurent concept store: A hybrid space between fashion, art and design

Since 2019, the Saint Laurent Rive Droite concept store in Paris has established itself as a hybrid space imagined by Anthony Vaccarello, creative director at Saint Laurent. Conceived as a place for dialogue at the crossroads of fashion, art and design, it regularly hosts artistic projects, exhibitions and collaborations. Inviting German artist Yvonne Robert is part of a desire to open up the house to sensitive contemporary practices.

In Yvonne Robert’s large-scale artworks, painting emerges as a primal gesture. On densely prepared off-white canvases, the artist unfurls vibrant chromatic fields. Layers of material build up, thus generating depth and luminosity. The free and dynamic forms seem to stand almost on their own. They seem held by an instinctive energy that Yvonne Robert claims as the driving force behind her practice.

Rejecting any form of narrative or symbolic interpretation, her painting stands on the side of perception. At Saint Laurent, these compositions unfold as open spaces, sensitive surfaces that engage with the gaze and the body more than the mind. The artist offers paintings to be experienced, in which color acts as an immediate and physical impulse.

“Yvonne Robert,” exhibition until April 22nd, 2026, at the Saint Laurent Rive Droite concept store, 213 rue Saint-Honoré, Paris, 1st arrondissement.
