Daniel Buren and Miles Greenberg, an electric duo on the cover of Numéro art

Since 2021, Reiffers Initiatives has invited a major international figure in the art world to mentor an emerging contemporary artist for a joint exhibition each year. For its fifth edition, the endowment fund has brought together an explosive duo: Daniel Buren and Miles Greenberg. Their collaborative exhibition will open on October 24th at Reiffers Initiatives during Art Basel Paris.

Daniel Buren, arguably the most internationally renowned French artist, will unveil a permanent in situ artwork titled La Façade aux acacias, which entirely covers the building housing the Reiffers Initiatives endowment fund located on 30 rue des Acacias in Paris. The artist will also present a second in situ piece entitled Nouvelles images du Ciel.

Performer and artist Miles Greenberg – already spotted at the Venice Biennale, in New York, and at the Louvre – will unveil new monumental sculptures made in cast aluminum, along with an exclusive performance interpreted by French singer and star Yseult on October 23rd, from 4pm to 8 pm.

To mark the occasion, Numéro art invited Icelandic photographer Vidar Logi to capture the duo. Honorary director of the Musée National d’Art Moderne – Centre Pompidou and a longtime connoisseur of Daniel Buren’s work, Bernard Blistène analyses the career of this seminal figure in art in our columns, while curator Olivia Anani dives into the depths of Miles Greenberg’s practice.
