“Mad,” “incredible,” “wonderful”… These are just some of the words flooding social media since the release of the music video for Sauvignon Blanc by Spanish singer Rosalía. It would take nothing less than a short film to match the brilliance of her latest album Lux, released in November 2025 and widely acclaimed by critics.

Directed by artist Noah Dillon and released on YouTube in February 2026, the video goes back to the essentials. Rosalía stands alone in the middle of the desert with an immense open sky above her. A luxury car in flames emerges, which seems to symbolize a rejection of any excess. The ashes give birth to an almost spiritual clarity, heightened by the imagery of levitation and ecstasy.

Following the melancholic pain of Berghain (2025) with Björk and Yves Tumor, and the anger of La Perla (2025), Sauvignon Blanc opens up a more intimate space in the opus Lux. A place of acceptance within despair, somewhere at the crossroads between desert sands, high-powered engines, a cross and a glass of wine…

The star sings with a surge of romanticism: “I’ll throw away my Jimmy Choo / I’ll let my porcelain fall / And I’ll give away my upright piano / I’m fine if you are here / If today, you are here.”
