Nick Knight is a legend. Over the past four decades, the London-based photographer and director has almost single-handedly reshaped the visual language of fashion with his radical, boundary-breaking vision. A trailblazer in digital image-making, he founded SHOWstudio in 2000, the first platform to livestream fashion shoots and pioneer editorial film online.
Knight has collaborated with some of the most era-defining talents of our time, including Alexander McQueen, Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian. His work appears regularly in Vogue, AnOther and i-D, and in 2023 he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to the arts. Combining technical experimentation with a bold and uncompromising approach to beauty, Knight’s imagery often straddles the line between the physical and the virtual.
For Numéro New York, he delivers a genre-defying cover story – a sumptuous, sprawling ode to Americana that merges real-life and Al-generated models, conceived with his longtime collaborator Simon Foxton.
