Pour son 5ème opus disponible à partir du 11 octobre, Numéro art propose quatre couvertures exceptionnelles : d’abord, l’artiste culte Yayoi Kusama photograpghiée par le légendaire Kishin Shinoyama dans son atelier de Tokyo. La Japonaise prend d’assaut la Place Vendôme pendant la FIAC et sera célébrée par une nouvelle exposition très prochainement chez David Zwirner. Puis, un hommage à Francis Bacon, dont l’exposition au Centre Pompidou est déjà le succès de la rentrée. Le clown tueur du film Ça (actuellement sur les écrans), l’acteur Bill Skarsgård, a accepté d’incarner pour Numéro art les personnages tourmentés de l’artiste britannique sous l’objectif de Tim Richardson. L’artiste radical et très secret Wade Guyton a quant à lui accepté d’être photograpié par Pierre-Ange Carlotti (auteur du calendrier des Dieux du Stade 2019) à New York. Wade Guyton sera à l’honneur en novembre au Ludwig Museum avec une rétrospective très attendue. Enfin, la méga-star californienne Sterling Ruby dont les incursions dans l’univers de la mode ont déjà marqué les esprits a accueilli le photographe Reto Schmid au sein de son gigantesque atelier de Los Angeles pour une visite exclusive. L’Américain vient de connaître le succès à Frieze London avec une double exposition : dans l’espace de Britannia Street et sur le stand de Gagosian.
Numéro art #5, c’est aussi toutes les autres personnalités et évènements qui vont compter jusqu’en février 2020, et notre TOP 40 des expositions à ne pas rater. Au programme : Giuseppe Penone au Palais d’Iéna pendant la FIAC, le succès mondial du trap marocain vu par des artistes, Charlotte Perriand à la Fondation Louis Vuitton, une interview exclusive et sans tabou de Marc Glimcher, le président de la très puissante Pace Gallery, Peter Hujar au Jeu de paume…
Numéro art #5, c’est surtout des créations originales produites par des artistes internationaux : une célébration en images de l’anniversaire de la chute du mur de Berlin par Tobias Zielony, la culture de banlieue revisitée à Marseille par Sara Sadik, un portfolio exclusif de l’artiste d’origine indienne Chitra Ganesh, et une collaboration entre le photographe Winter Vandenbrink et le performer Paul Maheke autour d’une performance qui sera dévoilée en novembre à New York pendant le festival Performa.

For its 5th opus, available from October 11th, Numéro art comes with four exceptional covers: first the cult artist Yayoi Kusama photographed by the legendary Kishin Shinoyama. The Japanese superstar stormed the Place Vendôme during the FIAC and is set to be celebrated in an imminent new exhibition at David Zwirner. Then a tribute to Francis Bacon, whose exhibition at the Pompidou Centre is already autumn’s big hitter. As the killer clown in It (currently on screens in its second instalment), actor Bill Skarsgård, agreed to embody the tormented souls of British artist and photographer Tim Richardson. The radical and highly secretive artist Wade Guyton was photographed by Pierre-Ange Carlotti (the Stadium Gods 2019 calendar) in New York. Wade Guyton will be honoured in November at the Ludwig Museum with a much anticipated retrospective. Finally, the mega star Sterling Ruby – whose incursions into the fashion world have already made their mark – welcomed photographer Reto Schmid to his gigantic workshop in Los Angeles for an exclusive visit. The American was recently hailed at Frieze London with a double exhibition: in the Britannia Street space and on the Gagosian stand.
