“The Batman” starring Robert Pattinson: a first epic teaser
Discover the first teaser of “The Batman” by Matt Reeves, scheduled for theatrical release in October 2021.
In February, the first solemn images of Robert Pattinson as Batman were unveiled, for the first opus of the new trilogy signed by Matt Reeves. Everything to make the mouth water for fans of the masked avenger once played by Michael Keaton, Christian Bale or Ben Affleck.
This Saturday, at the much-anticipated DC FanDome, Matt Reeves revealed a first teaser of The Batman, as well as his intentions regarding the direction of the film. “What appeals to me about The Batman story is that he's not a superhero in the traditional sense,” Reeves said in his virtual panel. If he has super-power, it's his ability to endure.” The director of Cloverfield and the recent episodes of The Planet of the Apes also cites a list of neo-noir movies as major influences: Roman Polanski's Chinatown, Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver, and William Friedkin's The French Connection.
Expected to look like a crime movie, the DC and Warner Bros. film will focus on Bruce Wayne's early days as Batman, but will not look at his origins. Robert Pattinson will confront Colin Farrell as the Penguin, while Zoe Kravitz will be portraying Catwoman and Paul Dano will star as the Sphinx.
