Actor Cillian Murphy lands in Paris for Numéro Homme

Mark-maker de la maison Montblanc, aux côtés du footballeur Zinedine Zidane ou de l’acteur Pierre Niney, l’acteur irlandais Cillian Murphy, fait partie de ces personnalités qui nous encouragent à toujours nous renouveler et à consacrer nos vies à ce qui véritablement nous inspire. Des valeurs que l’on retrouve au sein de la nouvelle collection “On The Move” de Montblanc qui fait la part belle aux objets aussi fonctionnels que raffinés comme le sac à dos Montblanc Extreme 3.0 à système de fermeture inspiré par l’escalade,  des instruments d’écriture au design discret, stylo, ou des montres à mouvement ou connectées. “Il nous arrive à tous de nous demander si on a pris les bonnes décisions et de nous interroger sur ce qui aurait pu arriver si on avait pris une autre direction. Notre façon d’avancer nous définit sans aucun doute, mais cette campagne révèle que si l’on fait ce qui nous inspire et ce qui a vraiment du sens pour nous, alors il y a des chances pour que l’on avance dans la bonne direction,” confie Cillian Murphy.

À 46 ans, Cillian Murphy s’impose comme une figure en vogue du 7e art. Son aura envoûtante calibrée par un regard de glace, ainsi que sa palette de jeu puissante en font un acteur incontournable, bien qu’il ne brigue que rarement les premiers rôles. Pourtant, l’acteur ne se destinait pas au cinéma. Avec une carrière de musicien en guise de rêve, Cillian Murphy affectionnait ce rock d’adolescent partagé avec son frère. Finalement, suite à une formation théâtrale et ses prestations dans The Shape Of Things (2003) de Neil LaBute ou le drame Disco Pigs (2001) de Kirsten Sheridan, il sort alors de l’anonymat. En 2002, le réalisateur Danny Boyle s’éprend de son apparence candide et Cillian Murphy obtient le rôle principal du long-métrage horrifique 28 jours plus tard. Il y incarne Jim, un coursier qui se retrouve dans un Londres désert à sa sortie du coma. Salué par la critique, le film présentait volontairement des acteurs peu connus du grand public et se situait “au croisement du film de guerre, du film de zombies des années soixante-dix et de la S.F. anglaise” précise le scénariste Alex Garland. 

Depuis 2013, Cillian Murphy est Thomas Shelby, héros aussi charismatique qu’énigmatique de la Première Guerre mondiale, traumatisé par son expérience de tunnelier, devenu chef des “Peaky Blinders, une célèbre famille de gangster dans l’Angleterre des années 20. Le drame historique de Steven Knight, électrisé par une bande-son anachronique et encensé par la critique, développe un personnage fascinant et nébuleux au cœur impénétrable. Mais c’est sous la direction de Christopher Nolan que sa carrière a pris un véritable tournant. Pressenti à l’origine pour le rôle de Batman, Nolan lui préfère Christian Bale, acteur  britannique connu pour ses transformations impressionnantes. À défaut d’être le nouveau – Chevalier Noir de Gotham City, il hérite du masque de l’Epouvantail, scientifique cauchemardesque. Suite à sa participation remarquée aux sein des deux premiers opus, Batman Begins (2005) et Batman The Dark Knight (2008), il rejoint également le casting impressionnant du thriller onirique Inception, devenant alors l’un des acteurs fétiches de Nolan, à l’instar de  Tom Hardy. Après Dunkerque en 2017, il sera à l’affiche du nouveau long-métrage du réalisateur britannico-américain,, Oppenheimer, un biopic dans lequel il incarne le chercheur américain Julius Robert Oppenheimer connu pour avoir dirigé, aux États-Unis, la mise au point de la bombe atomique pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Originally, the actor was not destined for the big screen. Dreaming of a career in music, Cillian Murphy enjoyed the teenage rock’n’roll he shared with his brother. After a theater training program and some performances in Neil LaBute’s The Shape Of Things (2003) and Kirsten Sheridan’s drama film Disco Pigs (2001), he eventually stepped out of anonymity. In 2002, director Danny Boyle fell for his candid appearance and Cillian Murphy got the leading role in the horror film 28 Days Later. He plays the character of Jim, a courier who finds himself in a deserted London after waking from a coma. Acclaimed by the critic, the film deliberately featured actors who were little known by the public and stood “at the crossroads between war films, seventies zombie movies, and British science fiction”, screenwriter Alex Garland says.
