American director Gregg Araki<\/strong><\/a>, 66, has cemented his status as a cult figure of independent and queer cinema. His filmography includes Totally F**ed Up*<\/em><\/strong> (1993), The Doom Generation<\/em><\/strong> (1995), and Nowhere<\/em><\/strong> (1997). The feature Kaboom<\/em><\/strong> (2010) won the Queer Palm at the Cannes Film Festival<\/strong><\/a>. His most acclaimed film to date remains the heartbreaking Mysterious Skin<\/em><\/strong> (2005), starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt<\/strong>, Brady Corbet<\/strong>, and Michelle Trachtenberg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known for his gritty tone and bold, vibrant visuals, Gregg Araki<\/strong> explores the notions of violence, sexuality, and adolescence. He has previously worked with brilliant actors, including Rose McGowan<\/strong>, Parker Posey<\/strong>, Ryan Phillippe<\/strong>, Chiara Mastroianni<\/strong>, Shannen Doherty, Christina Applegate, Angela Bassett<\/strong>, and Heather Graham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
