Eva Green joins the cast of Wednesday<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Viewers got a brief glimpse at her back at the end of season 2. The character of Aunt Ophelia, or Ophelia Frump, the sister of Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones<\/strong>), will finally make a proper entrance in the upcoming season. Some fans believed that Lady Gaga<\/strong> should have played the role\u2026 According to Deadline<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, Netflix<\/strong> and Tim Burton<\/strong><\/a> chose Eva Green<\/strong> to bring the character to life in season 3. A choice that seemed quite obvious. The 45-year-old French actress has always been infusing her roles with her dark, magnetic charisma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One can remember her intense performances in Miss Peregrine\u2019s Home for Peculiar Children<\/strong><\/em> (2016), or in the splendid series Penny Dreadful<\/strong><\/em> (2014\u20132016). Her participation also marks a reunion with Tim Burton<\/strong>. The creative duo have already worked together in the past, in Dumbo<\/strong><\/em> (2019) and the horror comedy Dark Shadows<\/strong><\/em> (2012).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A reunion between Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another piece of good news? One of Tim Burton<\/strong>\u2019s greatest muses, Winona Ryder<\/strong><\/a>, is also joining the cast of the new season. She previously played the young goth girl Lydia Deetz in Beetlejuice<\/em><\/strong> (1988), and again in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice<\/em><\/strong> (2024). The American actress already shared the screen with Jenna Ortega<\/strong><\/a> in that project. She previously shone in Tim Burton\u2019s cult poetic film Edward Scissorhands<\/em><\/strong>. \u201cI am so happy that Winona has joined us. She fits right into this world. She\u2019s a dear friend. I always feel lucky to work with her,<\/em>\u201d the director declared in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What can the audience expect from season 3?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While the plot of season 3<\/strong> remains under wraps for now, the arrival of Aunt Ophelia suggests that the series will continue delving into supernatural elements. This unsettling character, with her blonde hair and psychic abilities, was committed to the Willow Hill psychiatric hospital by her own mother, Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley<\/strong>), after her powers spiraled out of control. Yet, she escaped before vanishing into thin air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
