That\u2019s exactly the kind of instant crush we had as we discovered Ayo Edebiri<\/strong> in the first season of The Bear<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From NYU classrooms to Hollywood<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the show created by Christopher Storer<\/strong>, American actress Ayo Edebiri<\/strong> dazzles as an aspiring chef whose dreams of glory are partly crushed by her neuroses. Although it is obvious today that the 29-year-old was destined for fame, it wasn\u2019t on a film set that she first discovered her talent for performance.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ayo Edebiri<\/strong> made her debuts at the altar of her local Pentecostal church in her neighbourhood in Boston<\/strong>. She sang in the choir before turning to comedy and drama during high school. Although Hollywood was just a plane ticket away, stardom still seemed out of reach for the young woman, who first went university in order to become an English teacher.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born to a Barbadian mother and a Nigerian father, she held her parents\u2019 opinions in high regard. \u201cI remember being really anxious about telling them I didn\u2019t want to be a teacher<\/em>,\u201d she told The Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a>. But her parents reassured her and encouraged her to take her great ambitions seriously.<\/p> \n \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/article><\/p>\n\n\n\n

She then decided to switch majors, enrolling in dramatic writing in NYU<\/strong>. Alongside her studies, Ayo Edebiri<\/strong> performed at stand-up venues in New York and joined the cast of the animated series Big Mouth<\/em><\/strong> in 2020.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make ends meet, she worked as a barista in many caf\u00e9s throughout the Big Apple. Speaking to Vanity Fair<\/em><\/a> about her experience, she shared: \u201cI loved being a barista because I like order. There\u2019s something kind of satisfying about getting it right<\/em>.\u201d<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n
