Eleven new electronic bursts extend the rave initiated by <strong><em data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"708\">Eusexua<\/em><\/strong>, a record released last January and nominated for \u201cBest Dance\/Electronic Album\u201d at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/music\/grammy-awards-2026-discover-the-nominees\/\">2026 Grammy Awards<\/a><\/strong>. With forty minutes of conscious trance, this work stands out as a blazing record, a plunge into the post-party glow, into the pale light of the club\u2019s dawn. The album continues the erotic exploration of its predecessor, translating the emotions that arise in the wake of the storm &#8211; the rave. And it feels like a prolonged ecstasy.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p data-start=\"1139\" data-end=\"1634\">This sci-fi techno album flirts with the avant-garde pop so dear to the 37-year-old performer and taps into the full potential of contemporary electronic production. At times, one can almost hear the laments of an artificial intelligence facing its own desire, crashing into grainy bass lines and streaming synthetic layers. Highlights include <em>Sushi<\/em> &#8211; one of the best tracks of the year &#8211; <em>Touch A Girl<\/em>, <em>St\u00e9r\u00e9o Boy<\/em> &#8211; which features vocals reminiscent of <strong>Bj\u00f6rk <\/strong>&#8211; and <em>Wild and Alone<\/em>, a duet with <strong>PinkPantheress<\/strong>.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"FKA twigs - Cheap Hotel\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" data-cookieconsent=\"statistics, marketing\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RRNBmkLo-98?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><div class=\"cookieconsent-optout-statistics cookieconsent-optout-marketing\"><\/div>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">FKA twigs &#8211; <em>Cheap Hotel <\/em>(2025).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A truly erotic record<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p data-start=\"111\" data-end=\"526\"><strong>FKA twigs<\/strong> has never treated desire as a mere motif. <em data-start=\"207\" data-end=\"212\">LP1<\/em> (2014) already championing a cyberpunk R\u2019n\u2019B crafted with <a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/non-classifiee-2\/arca-collaborates-with-sia-and-announces-a-new-album\/\"><strong>Arca<\/strong><\/a> and visually shaped by <strong>Jesse Kanda<\/strong>. There, sensuality seemed to press against the skin, ready to burst out into the world. With <em data-start=\"390\" data-end=\"400\">M3LL155X<\/em> (2015), she immediately turned that energy into a manifesto, flipping the gaze on the female body to make it a tool of empowerment.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p data-start=\"528\" data-end=\"831\">In 2019, <strong><em data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"548\">Magdalene<\/em><\/strong> took this dramaturgy even further, blending pain and ecstasy in a single breath. <strong><em data-start=\"630\" data-end=\"649\">Eusexua Afterglow <\/em><\/strong>follows in that lineage. Eroticism here is no longer symbolic. It becomes a raw material, from lyrics to sounds &#8211; breath, piercing percussion, synths evoking bodies making love.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"1050\">The term <strong><em data-start=\"842\" data-end=\"851\">Eusexua<\/em><\/strong> itself, which she links to that moment of transcendent clarity just before orgasm, captures this shift toward a more intense sensuality. Shortly after the release of <strong><em data-start=\"208\" data-end=\"217\">Eusexua<\/em><\/strong>, the singer teased a deluxe version. She revealed new tracks, then announced that she was &#8220;pregnant&#8221; with a new album, <strong><em data-start=\"376\" data-end=\"387\">Afterglow<\/em><\/strong>, during a festival in the Netherlands on August 16th, 2025. And then, everything spiraled. It turned out this wasn\u2019t a deluxe version at all, but a completely new body of work featuring eleven previously unreleased tracks.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><p data-start=\"543\" data-end=\"862\">At the same time, she uploaded a new version of <em data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"600\">Eusexua<\/em>, where four original songs were replaced with new ones, including a remix featuring American artist <strong>Eartheater<\/strong>. In the end, <strong><em data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"744\">Eusexua Afterglow<\/em><\/strong> premiered in Paris during Fashion Week&#8230; Even in her marketing, the British artist does things entirely her own way.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That was certainly confirmed on June 8th, 2026. The mesmerizing performer took over the Adidas Arena in Paris, as part of her international <em>Body High Tour<\/em>, which will end on June 12th, 2026. At 9 pm, the lights went down, leaving only a halo illuminating <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/music\/the-best-looks-of-fka-twigs-singular-singer-and-performer\/\">FKA twigs<\/a><\/strong> lying down on a white bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The stripped-back melody of <em><strong>Mirrored Heart <\/strong><\/em>(2019) rose against a backdrop of scaffolding. She was then joined on <em><strong>Meta Angel<\/strong><\/em> (2022) by dancer <strong>James Vu Anh Pham<\/strong>, one of her choreographers, who also accompanied her on clarinet for<em><strong> Home With You <\/strong><\/em>(2019) and later at the piano. From the very start of the show, <a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/music\/who-is-lexee-smith-the-dancer-behind-fka-twigs-and-addison-raes-videos\/\"><strong>FKA twigs<\/strong><\/a> displayed a remarkable sense of harmony with her dancers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The artist then performed twenty songs, drawn mainly from <em><strong>Eusexua<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>Eusexua Afterglow<\/strong><\/em>, as well as <em><strong>Magdalene<\/strong><\/em> (2019) and <em><strong>Caprisongs<\/strong><\/em> (2022). Then, for <em><strong>Striptease<\/strong><\/em> (2025), the dance crew gradually undress together. During <em><strong>Home With You<\/strong><\/em> (2019), the synchronicity between FKA twigs and her dancers is so precise that they become a living Rorschach test, forming a hypnotic kaleidoscope of bodies. In one of the interludes, two dancers embrace to create a tableau reminiscent of William Bouguereau\u2019s painting<em><strong> Dante and Virgil<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Later in the show, the singer invited some of the leading figures of Paris\u2019s ballroom scene onto the stage. Dancer <strong>Giselle Palmer<\/strong> appeared alongside the <strong>House of Revlon collective <\/strong>and<strong> Riyley Revlon<\/strong>, a key figure in French voguing who had been warming up the crowd before the performance.
