And the actor confirmed that he will be joining the cast of <strong><em data-start=\"263\" data-end=\"271\">Heat 2<\/em><\/strong>. Speaking to <strong><em data-start=\"285\" data-end=\"295\">Deadline<\/em><\/strong>, however, he explained that he still has no idea which character he is going to play. \u201c<em>This is very much its own movie. We\u2019re still working on it, we\u2019re a ways away from production. It tips its hat to Heat, but it\u2019s an homage, and it picks up the story from there. The book is already out there, so there are no big secrets that I\u2019m divulging. It\u2019s set in the future, and the past, from that pivotal moment in what I think is the great crime noir film of my lifetime,<\/em>&#8221; he shared.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The announcement comes after several weeks of negotiations.<strong> Warner Bros.<\/strong> is now set to revive a project that had seemed uncertain due to budgetary concerns. According to some sources, the minimum budget would be around $130 million, which means Warner Bros is considering starting filming in 2026. <\/span><br><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On February 25th, 2026, American host <strong>Jake Hamilton<\/strong> and the British media <em><strong>The Independent <\/strong><\/em>confirmed that <strong>Christian Bale<\/strong> would be joining the project.
