One of them is a potential adaptation of <strong><em data-start=\"588\" data-end=\"607\">A Christmas Carol<\/em><\/strong>. The famous tale was originally written by British novelist Charles Dickens and focused on the character of Ebenezer Scrooge.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Robert Eggers<\/strong>, a former production designer and fanatic of fantasy films, might tell the story of another iconic monster from the horror bestiary for his upcoming feature \u2013 the werewolf. Thowback to<span style=\"color: #212529;\"> 1982, when American director <\/span><strong style=\"color: #212529;\">Jim Henson<\/strong><span style=\"color: #212529;\"> unknowingly created what would become a future fantasy classic. The special effects in his film <\/span><strong><em style=\"color: #212529;\" data-start=\"280\" data-end=\"298\">The Dark Crystal<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"color: #212529;\">, developed in collaboration with illustrator <\/span><strong style=\"color: #212529;\">Brian<\/strong> <strong style=\"color: #212529;\">Froud<\/strong><span style=\"color: #212529;\"> and puppeteer <\/span><strong style=\"color: #212529;\">Frank Oz<\/strong><span style=\"color: #212529;\">, amazed audiences even though critics were less enthusiastic. Considered as a campy flop by some or as a welcomed visual trip by others, it was a major critical and commercial failure nevertheless. The film grossed only $12.9 million in the U.S. despite its $25 million budget\u2026<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet, it was eventually considered as a cult classic, thanks likely to singer <a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/non-classifiee\/a-forgotten-david-bowie-album-resurrected-20-years-later\/\">David Bowie<\/a>\u2019s performance.
