This young brand of rental villas and hotels is now among <a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/tag\/minorca\/\">Menorca<\/a>\u2019s finest. After Palacio de Figueras in the Asturias, and the <strong>Santa Anna villa<\/strong> and <strong>Son Vell hotel<\/strong> in Menorca, the Madera family has just unveiled two new adjacent properties.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first, <strong>Son Ermit\u00e0<\/strong>, opened in mid-June and towers breathtaking, accessible coves from a hill surrounded by mountains. In the Vestige Collection, it stands as the counterpoint to Son Vell. The latter is a monumental property with its Palladian-style villa, Renaissance fountains and gardens. As for Son Ermit\u00e0, it is more of a belvedere, offering a wide range of vistas of the local wilderness.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The second property, <strong>Biniduf\u00e0<\/strong>, will be welcoming its first guests in August. The access road immediately plunges you into the wilderness. Over 70% of Menorca has been protected from real estate development for decades. Though secluded, t<\/span>here is only<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a 20-minute drive from<\/span> the hotel to<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the picturesque port town of Ciutadella and beaches of <strong>Cavalleria<\/strong> and <strong>Cala del Pilar<\/strong>. It is also a 30-minute drive from the southern beaches of Cala Turqueta and Cala Macarella.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The suite<\/strong><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> <\/span>The e<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">leven rooms and suites <\/span>were <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">arranged with the help of local artisans and artists<\/span>. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Son Ermit\u00e0<\/strong> is a dream boutique hotel <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">l<\/span><\/span>ocated in a<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> former agricultural estate<\/span>. Victor Madera, the self-proclaimed Aman junkie, has set very high standards regarding <\/span>the<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> amenities<\/span>. The rooms feature e<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">xtremely comfortable mattresses and pillows, embroidered satin linens, a deep blue zellige walk-in shower reminiscent of the Amanpuri in Phuket, a vintage-style bathtub, built-in sinks, and Rowse toiletries with their intoxicating blend of lemongrass, bergamot, rosemary, and patchouli. The bartenders are remarkably friendly and accommodating. They go above and beyond to craft off-menu creations for you upon request, like the watermelon daiquiri shown in the photo.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>The restaurant.<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since the hotel has just opened <\/span>its doors<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the menu at <strong>Bris\u00e0<\/strong> is still a work in progress<\/span>. W<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e loved the salmon and avocado Benedict eggs for breakfast &#8211; another off-menu indulgence requested by yours truly &#8211; the homemade pastries<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the special version of the Ni\u00e7oise salad with a local ros\u00e9 by the pool. <\/span>T<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he evening menu was to die for. It&#8217;s hard to imagine a better way to motivate us while lifting weights!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>The spa<\/b>. There isn\u2019t one, but yoga sessions and massages can be booked in a dedicated room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>The pool.<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<em>Irresistible and delightful<\/em>,\u201d just like Mauboussin\u2019s \u20ac850 solitaire ring. This infinity pool can be enjoyed any t<\/span>ime of the day<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, before or after the beach, at sunrise or sunset, on a lounger or a deck chair. The spot gives the impression that the David Bowie in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Man Who Fell to Earth<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> wearing a duffle coat is about to appear out of the blue. Leave your <strong>Louboutins<\/strong> at home and opt for a pair of sneakers to avoid mishaps on the steep trail. The hotel\u2019s buggies are on their way and will pick the less adventurous among us up for a ride. The best option is to book the hotel\u2019s yacht to hop from cove to cove and have a dive.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>We loved. <\/b>T<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he vastness of the private estate, reminiscent of the late Gazelle d\u2019Or in Taroudant, Morocco. The olive trees, umbrella pines, almond and carob trees, and deserted coves &#8211; all free of any dreadful background music!
