He began his career with two acoustic pop <a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/category\/culture-en\/music\/\">albums<\/a> &#8211; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Falling Off the Lavender Bridge <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2008 and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Life Is Sweet! Nice to Meet You<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 2010. But the London-born artist and former member of the punk band <strong>Test Icicles<\/strong> has never stopped evolving.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the stage name <a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/art-design\/art-en\/blood-orange-as-a-cyberpunk-hero-by-artist-jacolby-satterwhite-2\/\">Blood Orange<\/a>, his music spans dreamy R\u2019n\u2019B, spectral funk, and elegiac new wave. A rare versatility, filled with flashes of brilliance. Written and produced by Dev Hynes, the track is led by the celestial voices of <strong>Caroline Polachek<\/strong>, <strong>Daniel Caesar<\/strong>, Eva Tolkin, and Tariq Al-Sabir. It also features a subtle sample of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sing to Me<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (1998) by cult British band <strong>The Durutti Column<\/strong>. Directed by Hynes himself as always, the music video follows the artist and his friends as they wander through the English countryside, bathed in nostalgia. This return isn\u2019t about an artist seeking attention. It\u2019s the return of a creator whose influence has extended far beyond music.
