Only two features break that rule. <em>True Romance<\/em> (1993) and <em>From Dusk Till Dawn<\/em> (1996) have been written, but not directed by <strong>Quentin Tarantino<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <em>The<\/em> <em>Playlist<\/em>, the script for this sequel reportedly originated from the screenplay of <strong><em>The Movie Critic<\/em><\/strong>, a project initially slated for 2025 that the director ultimately abandoned. The story follows actor Rick Dalton and his stuntman Cliff Booth against the dazzling backdrop of Hollywood in the 1970s. It also weaves in the tragic story of <strong>Sharon Tate<\/strong> and her encounter with the &#8220;family&#8221; of murderer <strong>Charles Manson<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Netflix<\/strong> sequel marks a reunion between <strong>David Fincher<\/strong> and one of his go-to actors, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/movies\/brad-pitt-in-3-roles-that-changed-his-career-2\/\">Brad Pitt<\/a><\/strong>. The actor played some of the director&#8217;s most iconic roles in <em data-start=\"349\" data-end=\"356\">Se7en<\/em> (1995), <em data-start=\"365\" data-end=\"377\">Fight Club<\/em> (1999), and <em data-start=\"390\" data-end=\"427\">The Curious Case of Benjamin Button<\/em> (2008). In this spin-off, he is expected to play the same role as the stuntman he previously played in the original film. It\u2019s an episode, not really a sequel, of the character from Once Upon a Time. He didn\u2019t want to direct it at this point, so our friend David Fincher stepped in<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking about the choice of <strong>David Fincher<\/strong> as director, <strong>Quentin Tarantino<\/strong> said on <strong><em>T<\/em><em><strong>he<\/strong> Church of Tarantino<\/em><\/strong> podcast: \u201c<em>I think me and David Fincher are the two best directors. So the idea that David Fincher actually wants to adapt my work, to me, shows a level of seriousness towards my work that I think needs to be taken into account<\/em>.\u201d In the same interview, he also revealed that <strong><em>Once Upon a Time in Hollywood<\/em><\/strong> is his favourite film in his entire filmography. All the more reason why we can\u2019t wait to see what David Fincher will do with it\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For now, we know that <strong>Elizabeth Debicki<\/strong> (<em data-start=\"650\" data-end=\"657\">Tenet<\/em>, <em data-start=\"659\" data-end=\"670\">The Crown<\/em>), <a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/movies\/yahya-abdul-mateen-ii-portrait-wonder-man\/\"><strong>Yahya Abdul-Mateen II<\/strong><\/a> (<em data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"706\">Watchmen<\/em>), <strong>Carla Gugino<\/strong>&nbsp;(<em>The Haunting of Hill House<\/em>), and <strong>Scott Caan<\/strong> (<em data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"740\">Hawaii Five-0<\/em>) will be in the cast. However, it remains unclear whether <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/why-is-the-film-dont-look-up-starring-leonardo-dicaprio-causing-such-a-stir\/\">Leonardo DiCaprio<\/a> <\/strong>and <strong>Margot Robbie<\/strong> will return as well\u2026 Negotiations between Netflix and the two actors are underway. The American director now manages a movie theater. Indeed, he recently acquired the Vista Theatre in the heart of Hollywood, thus rescuing it from post-Covid bankruptcy. But above all, he has embraced the role of writer, expanding the world of <strong><em data-start=\"1420\" data-end=\"1452\">Once Upon a Time\u2026 in Hollywood<\/em><\/strong> into a novel and a play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While film adaptations of novels are very common, the lesser-known genre of book adaptations of films also exists. For the American filmmaker, it is first and foremost a way to flesh out narrative arcs left unresolved in the feature. We learn more about Cliff Booth&#8217;s (<a href=\"https:\/\/numero.com\/en\/culture-en\/brad-pitt-and-france-a-long-standing-love-story-2\/\"><strong>Brad Pitt<\/strong><\/a>) backstory. While the film ambiguously hinted at his involvement in his wife\u2019s death, the book leaves no room for doubt\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dialogues are more explicit, even cruder this time: \u201c<em>Cliff was never obsessed with a girl\u2019s looks. As long as she lets him sink his teeth into her ass<\/em> (&#8230;)\u201d This gives readers a rawer, more unfiltered perspective on the characters. The author\u2019s American publisher released the book with a trailer featuring a retro-style voice-over. The fictional actor Rick Dalton, played on screen by <strong>Leonardo DiCaprio<\/strong>, could become the main character of this new extension. The play would follow his career acting in Italian spaghetti westerns, including the period when he meets his wife, Francesca Capucci, as shown in the film. The insatiable director of <strong><em data-start=\"1413\" data-end=\"1427\">Pulp Fiction<\/em><\/strong> is also said to be developing a five-episode TV show based on the film <em data-start=\"1509\" data-end=\"1521\">Bounty Law<\/em>, the black-and-white embedded narrative that introduces <em data-start=\"1575\" data-end=\"1607\">Once Upon a Time\u2026 in Hollywood<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
