How to bring such a large vision to life? By dismantling the monolithic image that often looms over cinema. With the <strong>Karmitz<\/strong> brothers\u2019 initiative, the seventh art found itself intertwined with other creative <\/span>forms, such as music<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, gastronomy, contemporary art, and video games.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cin\u00e9ma Paradiso, an open-air film festival at the Louvre<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Together, they called this concept \u201c<strong>Paradiso<\/strong>\u201d, turning Paris into the testing ground for all their experiments. In 2013 and 2015, they turned the <strong>Grand Palais<\/strong> into a drive-in theater. The first edition also featured the concept store Colette. Other standout moments? Events were hosted by Le Baron and Wanderlust, two iconic Parisian nightlife venues. These marked the launch of the first two editions of the <strong>Cin\u00e9ma Paradiso Louvre Festival<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since then, they have opened Europe\u2019s very first virtual reality cinema, \u201cMK2 VR\u201d, inside the <strong>MK2 Biblioth\u00e8que <\/strong>multiplex. Although it closed in 2020, a similar venue opened shortly afte<\/span>r. T<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">his time<\/span> it was at<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the Parc des Princes, inside <strong>PSG<\/strong> <strong>Football Club<\/strong>\u2019s facilities!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the opening of <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Hotel<\/strong> <strong>Paradiso<\/strong><\/span><\/span>,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Europe\u2019s first cinema-hotel located inside <strong>MK2 Nation<\/strong> in Paris in March 2021, the two directors of the French production and distribution decided to extend the journey of the <strong>Cin\u00e9ma Paradiso<\/strong> <strong>Festival<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Virgin Suicides (1999) Trailer #1 | Movieclips Classic Trailers\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" data-cookieconsent=\"statistics, marketing\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YRPXQ3XcpKc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><div class=\"cookieconsent-optout-statistics cookieconsent-optout-marketing\"><\/div>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The trailer of <em>The Virgin Suicides<\/em> (1999).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A 2025 edition with Sofia Coppola and Wong Kar-wai<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From July 2nd to 5th, 2025, the film festival was held in the<strong> Cour Carr\u00e9e of the Louvre<\/strong>. The 5th edition included open-air film screenings, concerts, DJ sets\u2026 Everything was orchestrated to celebrate summer and the seventh art. Among various bars, food trucks and appearances from important figures from the art and entertainment industry, festival-goers were able to enjoy preview screenings and cult gems. All of that on a giant 24-metre-long screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for the lineup, the <strong>Cin\u00e9ma Paradiso Louvre<\/strong> partnered with <strong>Chanel<\/strong>. Behind the decks were <strong>DJ Piu Piu <\/strong>and the collective <strong>Fip Squad<\/strong>. The latter was also present at the festival to introduce her cult movie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The<strong> Cin\u00e9ma Paradiso Festival<\/strong> also paid tribute to the great <strong>David Lynch<\/strong> with a screening of <em><strong>Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me<\/strong><\/em>. Finally, the three-time Cannes award-winning feature <em><strong>The Secret Agent <\/strong><\/em>(2025) by <strong>Kleber Mendon\u00e7a Filho<\/strong> brought the open-air screenings to a close. The Norwegian director was guest of honour with the film <em><strong>The Worst Person in the World<\/strong><\/em> (2021).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lineup also included<strong> Wes Anderson<\/strong>\u2019s <em>The Grand Budapest Hotel<\/em> (2014), <strong>C\u00e9line Sciamma<\/strong>\u2019s <em>Portrait of a Lady on Fire<\/em> (2019), and <strong>L\u00e9a Mysius<\/strong>\u2019s <em>The Birthday Party<\/em> (2026). After taking over the Cour Carr\u00e9e, the film festival has announced another spectacular venue\u2026 <strong>Cin\u00e9ma<\/strong> <strong>Paradiso<\/strong> is heading to the Eiffel Tower. From September 24th to 27th, 2026, the monument\u2019s first floor will host free open-air screenings with breathtaking views over the French capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Armani Beauty<\/strong> will be the official partner of the opening night on September 24th, 2026.
